1. How have you recently kept yourself in check?
Ah. So. Just yesterday. I was recently getting fed up with the inner workings of the charity I volunteer for. I had a bit of extra time recently and had been a little more active in the Board, and got the press release together (just some formatting and aligning the language/content in the different language versions), created a couple of spreadsheets, managed to get the group approved on some NGO registrar or something or whatnot (honestly, I don't understand any of that but I just seemed to manage to get it approved). Then one of the ladies just up and posted something on social media, and then was asking people to do the translation post immediately. No one replied her, then she came to me and asked me to do it. I said I can't do the translation now (it was official office hours, I do have a job to attend to), but that since her post was so similar to the Press Release content, I could post the Chinese version, with some changes.
She said no. Because "I changed the "we" to "their"". Okay. That was exactly what I had in mind, to use the existing Chinese Press Release, check it against the posted English social media post, and make the changes, and add the Chinese version to the post. But no. She wanted a full on translation of the new text.
Yes I'm petty.
2. What’s the closest thing to a castle you’ve been in?
So easy. What's like a castle? A palace, I suppose. I was just at the Grand Lisboa Palace 2 weeks ago LOL. Granted, it's not a "palace" palace... it's a hotel complex, but it was designed with Versailles reference, so, like a palace!
3. What were the circumstances the last time you were hoarse?
I tend to get URTI (Upper Respiratory Track Infection) pretty easily, so I do a lot of things to minimize hurting or affecting my throat. If there's a little wind, I'll put on a scarf. I can't explain it in English... It's not for the cold (temperature kind of cold), but it's for the wind-cold (the sudden wind that gives you the chills around the neck, then you get sick). I know. It makes no sense. But it makes sense in Chinese! Anyway, I got off-track. So because I take care not to get my throat area affected, and I also do not drink icy cold drinks, and I try not to scream so much, so, it's been a long, long long long long long while since I last had a sore throat or a hoarse voice.
4. What’s your favorite song by Queen?
Can't say favorite, but it's the ONLY song I know. Yeah. Which else? Bohemian Rhapsody. And I did go to Youtube and let it play a few Queen stuff to see if I recognized anything, and really, just that. And I actually hate it. It's so random, it's like meshing 3 songs into 1 song. But that's my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right.
5. For what will you likely pay a king’s ransom in the near future?
December is high expense month. Christmas shopping (I've started) and then by the end of December I have to pay the health insurance I bought apart from the medical insurance included in my job... and then the dogs need their annual medical plans renewed... so not a thing or an item in itself, but the timing of all these bills.
