Friday Five 29-April-2022 | Meh
Saturday, 30 April 2022 00:191. This week, when was good enough good enough?
I keep saying, having a meh time doesn't have to be bad. Meh, is actually good, it just means, it's not fabulous enough to talk about, and it's not bad enough to talk about, so it's "Meh" when you are made to talk about it. But it's actually a good thing, because it wasn't bad!
2. What are a few songs you’d include in a middle-of-the-road playlist?
I really can't say as it's gonna be tough to be "in a middle of the road" here where I live, but, for the past few days, I've been on a one-song-focus phase. I even built a playlist of this song being covered by different artists and versions.
3. What is the most ordinary thing about you?
I'm just an ordinary person. I like dogs.
4. What do you like most about an average day?
On an average day, I get to work and see people. Because of the central location of my office, I can go out and meet my other friends for lunch. Walking to work and back home does not take a Herculean effort. It's always the small things that makes it good.
5. What do people seem to think is wonderful while you think it’s just okay?
The people in town are all going "buy an apartment in Hengqin, China, as an investment". Hm. I don't know. Yes, it's property, it's an investment. No, it's gonna be tough to live there. No I do not want to live there. Did you hear about the story a couple weeks back, when Shanghai was hit pretty badly with a new wave of covid cases? People were evicted from their own homes so that the government can house the infected people there. "Property belongs to everyone, equally" indeed! This is as far as I would toe into politics talk, I'm not even saying that one word LOL. So yeah. Buying property in China is considered to be wonderful to a lot of people here now, but I'm not envious (I don't have a "China return-home card" anyway, so can't even if I wanted to), and I do not find it an attractive idea at all.
