And they extended it.

... and they extended the not-a-lockdown lockdown for another 5 days. So next week is another week of that crap.
A dog has died due to choking and was living in a "red zone" building. A red zone building is, the building is on total lockdown because someone in there tested positive, so the entire building is locked down. No going out, no going in. The dog choked. The owners couldn't take the dog to the vet. They called for help, help arrived 2 hours later. The Municipal people came to collect the corpse.
Hearing the story this way, of course I'm upset. But. Come on. What did the dog choke on? You gave him chicken bones, right?
The press conference is going on right now and they said they'll extend this not-a-lockdown another 5 days. Another 5 days of dogs not allowed to go out.
Our dryer is busted. The door handle broke, so if we close it, we can't ever open it again. And I really needed to wash my bedsheets - Menina has some ear trouble so my bed gets dirty very easily, when she rubs her head on my sheets. Then I remembered - we have a common-use rooftop! So I went up there to hang the washed sheets.
And apparently, in the morning, it's quite fresh up there. There was a constant breeze and the water tower was just at the right place to cast a shade on this side of the roof. So I stayed up there for a bit. I didn't realize that in terms of pure distance, the Penha church is so near to my building. And also... just how many illegal structures there are!
Colloquially, there are 2 kinds of buildings. "Western buildings" are usually buildings over 5 floors high and have elevator access; these usually have a "management company" to maintain the building. "Oriental buildings" are usually buildings up to 5 floors, and have no elevator access. In "Western buildings", the roof is a common area. In "Oriental buildings" the roof belongs to the top floor homeowner(s). If there are more than 1 unit per floor, then the roof is divided up according to the floor plan below and belongs to each of the homeowners. My building is 11 floors high (there's a mezzanine floor, and this is the rooftop, so I suppose I'm around at height of around the 13th floor level). All these buildings we see are shorter ones, they are mostly "Oriental buildings", and the illegal structures, are the aluminium tops. Yep. The whole area consists of illegal structures. And the government won't do anything about it. Because if they do something about one, they have to do something about all. If a neighbour complains about one neighbour, all neighbours suffer as well. A beautiful status quo.
I am not sure if this is a real message, but my friend sent me a screenshot of supposedly from the Zhuhai Psychiatric Center and I laughed my arse off. "Dear Citizens, If during the quarantine period, you find yourself talking to the plants and trees, there is no need to panic and call us. You will need to seek medical attention and call us only when the plants and trees start replying you. Thank you."
