And the “aftermath”

elusivekIn continuation of the post I made about being an introvert and being asked to a party.
In the end I did go to the party.
As I expected, as I predicted, my friend got held back by another meeting, and so when I arrived it was her underlings dealing with me. They were a bit wary of me because I was "their boss' friend". After waiting for a bit, I guess her staff received the message to start the lunch, so we started eating. As I imagined, I was like a lone wolf sitting in a corner.
Then my friend arrived and with her she brought another high-level colleague, so she spent the time with him. I try to make small talk with another colleague that I knew from ages ago, but she's a very front line or "the help" kind of staff, so she was on a strict lunch hour schedule, so she soon left.
Friend waves me over to sit with her and upper management guy, and soon upper management guy leaves, but then friend has to host the party and they start the present exchange activity. So the grand total time I've actually met with and sat with friend was like... less than 5 minutes.
I mentioned before I would get a Starbucks tumbler? I got the perfect tumbler. It's blue, so if a guy gets it it's a "manly blue" and if a girl gets it it's "shiney starry sparkly!" (In other words: I really like it LOL)
I guess a few people had a similar idea, I saw at least 2 other Starbucks bags, and the gift I received wasn't even wrapped, and... it was another Starbucks tumbler.
I had looked at this particular series before, but for the taller one, but it's ok. It's nice. (I much prefer the blue I got though LOL). I followed the lucky draw closely and saw a guy get my tumbler. Then lots of guys huddled together to look at that mug. I guess, it was popular?
So yeah....
The only thing is... a while back I ordered another tumbler (not Starbucks) and now I have.... too many tumblers and thermos bottles. I'm going to leave the Lilac Starbucks tumbler in the office and bring the blue not Starbucks (the handle thing is detachable, and the lid can be changed to another no-straw-hole lid.
In the end, after the party and everything, I thought I could get another 10 mins with friend for a short catch up, but then I guess she had another meeting and whatnot and went to the washroom. So, seeing as there was nothing else for me to do in that office, and it being like 2.30pm, I figured I might as well just go back to the office lunch hour was long over *shrugs*.
