elusivek Over lunch today we were talking about... traveling I think, as I'm going to fly out tonight. And then a certain someone's name came up. That's the husband of my Dad's cousin who's in Switzerland. He mentioned the guy called him a couple years ago but that he was speaking gibberish and then someone took the phone and hung up. I guess, if one thinks innocently enough, then maybe he went to an old people's home or a hospital and so the staff just took the phone away? But the True Crime enthusiast in me is thinking other possibilities.
So we tried to do a basic name search, no dice. Switzerland seems to have some privacy laws thingamajig so it's tough. Also tried a phone number search. Maybe I should try search for the daughter, but I don't know if she married and changed her surname or not.
Thing is, Dad doesn't quite remember the city he's living (or last lived in), he can only say it's out of Zurich.
So I then started to look at Google maps and Zurich. One thing led to another, and then eventually that caused me to start searching for my Dad, and apparently, there's articles and articles either about him or quoting him. Huh. Didn't know the guy had some some clout.
I have a faint memory of visiting this guy. He was a chef too, and as his daughter worked as an air hostess in Swiss Air so he got a lot of free or cheap tickets, so he travelled the world, he even came over to Macau to visit us at least twice, that I know of, maybe more, since he seems to be very familiar with one of my aunts (Mom's sister).
