For the next 6 weeks, we have F.R.E.E.D.O.M!!!

Sent the parents off. Got them a special service that picks them up from home in Macau, takes them to the Ferry Terminal, goes on the Premier Service, then in Hong Kong they get on a dedicated bus or van or limo to the airport. Takes double the time, but that solves the problem of having to lug the luggage around.

For your information, in case anyone is planning to visit Macau via Hong Kong or whatever:

Option 1: There is a direct ferry service from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to Macau and vice versa, without crossing through Hong Kong immigration. But there's only 1 such ferry service a day for either direction, so unless your flight time fits, it's not really useful. If you are going from Hong Kong to Macau, then you don't even need to cross immigration to "enter Hong Kong" as you can get the ferry to Macau and you only cross immigration to "enter Macau".

Option 2: The Premier ferry service takes you point to point. Say from Macau, they pick you up from your home/hotel, luggage and all, limo you to the ferry terminal, ferry to HK, limo you to the airport. This is equivalent to taking the ferry to Hong Kong Island, then from Island side going to the airport that's like an hour away. Granted, you still need to cross immigration, but you don't have to worry about your luggage. Same from HKIA to Macau, you do not "enter Hong Kong" this way.

Option 3: Take the HKIA Bus Direct. You will go by bus, over the HKZM Bridge. But the inconvenient thing is, you have to get off the bus, take your luggage, cross the immigration with your luggage, then go back onto the bus. If you look at a map you will see that the bridge end Hong Kong side near to Airport, so it saves a lot more time than the Premier Ferry Service.

Option 4: do everything or anything of the above, but not in a packaged service. Take the bus to Hong Kong, but in Hong Kong side, find a public bus to go to the airport, etc.

I'm enjoying the relatively quiet home for now. No nagging about "check the dogs!" (The dogs are well and are happy as is). Dad tends to give a lot of snacks so they actually ask Dad for snacks. Now no Dad? Nobody's asking for snacks.

After the parents were sent off, we fed the dogs their dinner, then made a quick trip to IKEA because, I haven't been there for a while. Wasn't really planning to buy anything, but ended up buying a new bed-linen set, frozen cinnamon rolls, some swedish (apple/pear/lemon-ginger) cider vinegar, and frozen swedish fish fingers. Decided to have a hot dog at the snack bar, so dinner was settled, and off we went home, walked the dogs, fed the dogs their second dinner, gave them medicine, and bed time.

I didn't sleep well though, maybe Menina knew something was off, she spent the whole night asking to get off my bed and getting back on. Then Frankie scratched the door to the verandah for a toilet break at around 4am. Maybe they are missing the parents.

Today was fun though. Woke up, dealt with the dogs, then we went for early morning movies.

I watched a Japanese one called Monster, and Sis went for the (new?) Indiana Jones.

I got in a bit too early so it was an empty room, so I had a peek at the ticketing system and found that it was relatively... not empty. Pretty good for a 10.30am movie I guess. But as recent Japanese movies are wont to do, I'm just confused about the ending... So...? What does it mean? The story is told in 3 perspectives: the Mom's, the Teacher's, and I suppose the "general" perspective (it sort of was mixed with the kids and the principal and other characters). The ending of the Mom's and the Teacher's sort of matched... but the ending of the third perspective did not match any of the 2 previous. So I don't know what it's trying to say. So the kids are probably developing feelings (so, probably gay), but so what...? The bigger problem is the shorter boy's treatment by his Dad and the lie the taller boy's been telling and thus getting the Teacher in trouble. There's no resolution in any of that....

Since there were no messages from the family chat group about Sunday lunch, we decided to have a quick lunch at the mall where the movie was at. It's a disappointing Thai because the food didn't have that herb-ish taste that Thai food usually have. But the funny thing was the server brought the food but did not bring cutleries and he said "oh, wait please, Chotto Matte!" and I laughed. This is a Thai restaurant, why is he speaking Japanese LOL.

Then we went for a quick shopping for essentials. I got myself a carton of calcium rich milk, Sis got the cat food. Passed by McD's and had a Sundae. Also passed by a Japanese supermarket and got some staples. I got some instant noodles for the days we have no time to cookout, and Sis was curious about Nattou, so we got a box (2 inside). I forgot to get some laver sheets though.

Sis got home first, then I had to go out again because I had some side mission from the Boss. Had a bit of a walk around out there. This fake sky painting in an indoor mall... I remember it was all the "big genius thing" 20 years ago when it first opened.

Just had a very light dinner of a fish fillet and some fruits. Then it's dog walk. Then it's free quiet evening.

The parents should have landed Vienna by now. Oh. Yeah. I had the HKIA app and it alerted me of updates of flights that I asked to keep track of (their flight), so when it was time for boarding, I sent them a text that said, "Now boarding, you should have priority as you're in a wheelchair, so bon voyage and have fun!" And Mom asked me back "How do you know?" "Ah, I know everything, LOL."

I know they've landed but they probably haven't gotten a local SIM data plan sorted out yet, so, still quiet on their end. Shall wait and see.
