Skyfall

I actually have another post brewing in my mind, but after last night's visit to the movies - Skyfall, I just have to rant.
Ok, I'm almost 30, and this IS my first 007 movie ever. I don't know if it should be a shame or not, but ohwell. Just. Duh.

The opening sequence was beautiful, I'll have to give it that.

The story was a bit stupid, really. I loved that porcelain bulldog haha, and the joke about it too.

Shanghai was really beautiful there. The problem I had was with Macau.

A rant will inadvertly attract spoilers popping in, so I have this under a cut.

Are all Bond movies like that? If so, I don't think I'll watch any other Bond movie anymore. (Except for the one either in the 60's or 70's that was REALLY shot in Macau, or so I heard)

It's confirmed.

I belong to the species known as the Human Woman.

And I swore to myself that I would not make any unnecessary shopping in November. And what did I turn around to do? I bought two pairs of shoes!

I'm actually annoyed with myself for giving into temptation... but! In my defense!

I was on my way to the Macau Fringe Parade, and passed by one of the new-fangled shoe stores Jipi-Japa, and right at the entrance, they were showing... a pair of Oxford styles shoes.

I was looking to get a pair of Oxford style shoes for a long time already. I've seen a lot for sale in China, also in those new kind of stores where people buy stuff from Korea/Japan, snap photos and put it up for sale in Facebook... Esperanza had a very pretty line of Oxford style shoes, but...

China shoe sizes are terrible. I'm usually a 39, but in China? I probably need a size 40 or even 41.

I don't even have to look at Korean and Japanese shoes either. AND for me to buy shoes without trying them on first is like burning money. In that case, looking at burning money is probably more fun than looking at a pair of shoes I can't even stuff my feet into.

So, the nice pair of shoes at the entrance?

Beautiful! My mom says it's very nun-style. But I like that the heels aren't too high, and the heels are HUGE. I have 3 or 4 pairs of real high shoes, but the heels are just a little thicker than stilettos, and those are tough to walk in, wreaking havoc in my knees and in my back. What's more, this pair of shoes was actually comfortable to walk and stand in. Immediately Sold!

When I made to pay, the girl brought me a pair of Oxford style boots - and kept telling me I get a bigger discount if I buy two pairs of shoes.

By then, I thought, well, these looked cool too. If I wear a pair of my work pants, it actually makes my feet look a little longer - and more manly. That felt cool at that time, AND the boots were really comfortable... so I got them too.

Anyway, this has to be kept short - I'm here just to show off my shoes.

I'm going to take a shower and then I have to sit and work at the NaNo... no wait, I have 1 document from work I should deal with now quickly first, THEN work on NaNo. I was a whole two days ahead on Saturday, but as my Sundays go, yesterday's word count was 0.

And so, I gotta go.

Toodles!
