Friday Five 2-April-2021 #1: Play Ball

I don't want to wait for both Friday Fives to update, so this post's questions are from F.riday5.com!

1. In what area of your life are you on a roll?
I don't know. Work is good. Hobbies are good. Plants are good. My mental health? My mental health has been great in recent years after I've learnt to just let stuff go. I did go through some really dark times (I'm looking at you, 2017), and I'm glad I'm out of that funk.

2. What’s the most recent spherical food you consumed?
An orange. Dad served 3 oranges for post-dinner fruits. Although he had them quartered so it didn't come to me in a spherical shape, but yeah, it's the oranges.

3. In what way has your life taken a strange bounce?
This could be a one-way thing, but since working for this new current boss, and despite sometimes I do complain about certain things, I think that working for this boss has done me heaps good. Being happier just makes everything else go a lot more smoothly.

4. When did you last hit a home run?
Ugh. Dunno how to answer this LOL.

5. When did you last attend a special event for which you needed new clothes?
Wow. It's been ages since I last shopped for clothes for a specific event. I guess that would make it some time in 2014? My company was hosting an event and invited the Versace lady boss. Her team said she liked to see people in smart black suits. So that's what I went to get for myself. I sometimes put that on for work if I know I have to go to some big meeting, but since I don't really need to go in a suit for work for my dailies... it's just hanging there. Ok alright, I'll smarten up a bit for work then.

Long Weekend

I have Friday through Monday off because of Easter. Good Friday, and "Ching Ming" 清明, which you can think of as "Chinese All Soul's Day" on Sunday and thus Monday is compensated. Some places get Tuesday off as well, because Easter Sunday is supposed to be compensated as well. But given Easter Sunday will always be on a Sunday (duh)... but I won't go envying people who get the Tuesday off as well.

Since Mom started a plan at some beauty parlor and she wants us (my Sis and I) to share the package, so I went for a facial today. The lady did all the usual stuff, plucked my brows, cleared my pores and all that. Then it got me to thinking, since I'm (albeit forced) starting to take proper care of my skin, and my current stock of skincare products is really approaching the end of it, I went to get some refill. I loved Shu Uemura and L'Occitane and those are products I've been using for quite a while already, but I've come to the stage where I'd like to consciously choose Cruelty Free things. I did a bit of research, and found out there isn't really a lot of options here in Macau. Body Shop, Nature Republic, Lush, Bath and Body Works. That's it. I chose to go to the Body Shop as I know they do the recycling thing as well... and that there's a shop just in downtown so it's easy for me to get to.

So I got a cleansing oil, a cleanser, a moisturizer (usable day and night), the Himalayan mask, and an SPF. The soaps I got because now I like soaps more than liquid soaps, and the hand cream was a freebie gift. I still have minimal of my existing items, but I'll need to slowly phase that out. I'm keeping them for now in case I turn out to have an allergic reaction to any of these new products.
