A couple of updates (COVID and Dinner)
Tuesday, 10 August 2021 10:05First off, and more important, the results of the city-wide COVID-19 tests are out.
All 716-thousand tests came out negative. So it's just that family of 4.
HOWEVER.
How much do you trust the result?
Case in point: in order to get the test, we need to show our ID card and the health code. The health code is generated from a web application where you input your ID information, basically logging your health symptoms (if any), travel history and your residential address, if neither your travel history nor your residential address have been tagged as infected areas, and you have no symptoms of being sick, then it's fine.
So, to get the COVID test, you show your ID card and your health code. On the day I did mine, I mentioned the health code system was down, so many people couldn't do it. One colleague, let's call her A, helped her supervisor, we'll call her B to generate the health code (A's phone happened to be able to load the page).
And when we were queuing to do the test, B went in first with her code and her ID card, and passed. Everyone did the same and passed. A, the silly girl, mistakenly used the photo capture of B's code with her ID. The names don't match, the IDs don't match, but! The staff at the registration let her through. Did the staff not check?
Of course, the poor staff may have been doing the same thing all day and missed a name or two, but A's and B's names were vastly different.
So, I just read the news and take it with a grain of salt.
NEXT. The Dinner.
This is the Frittaten Soup. Basically a Beef Broth served with sliced pancakes. This can be a meal in itself LOL
The famed Portuguese Duck Rice. I also like to joke that there's too much duck and not enough rice. Ingredient-wise, of course people would like to have more duck, but I actuallylike love rice, so I found there wasn't enough rice haha. Friends repeated for seconds and thirds!
Finally it's ice cream. To make our lives easy, we just took a thermos tub to McDonald's and bought, I don't know, 6 or 8 portions of soft ice cream, and took that home. Served with Pumpkin Seed Oil (a very Austrian/Styrian thing), and a piece of brownie brittle. It was yummy!
Oh, I managed to dig out some old plates and bowls set that we had 6 pieces of, I forgot to shoot a photo of that, but my friend got a nice shot of that :-)
