Hong Kong salvaged

Ah, sorry, got busy the last couple days.

So after that regretful trip to Hong Kong and the underwhelming feeling of the concert, the following day was salvaged.

I was originally feeling a little sour about my Sis standing me up, but then someone saved me - the Boss' Hong Kong driver!

Since the Boss was on some other work trip, the driver had some free time, and, we went for breakfast, then ran some errands, and then, he took me to see the family home (Boss once said it's haunted and that he'd bring me there to show me the haunting. Instead, driver took me and I saw 2 HUGE SPIDERS!)

Then there was some time, so the driver drove me to the southern shoreline of Hong Kong. It's basically like in Macau but going to Coloane island. The coolest part was that road that's a dam wall, it was so nice! It was a one-way road that needed a traffic light to control the right of way, so there was no way to stop the car to shoot a photo, so at least, I've seen it and the scene is in my mind.

Stopped at a beach and seriously, it's better kept than Macau beaches. I'm going out with a friend tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to Coloane, and I'll shoot some photos, if it works out. Tomorrow is the Tung Ng Festival, aka the Dragon Boat Festival, people will go 游龍舟水 (swim in the Dragon Boat water) so the beaches will very likely be full.

Then driver took me for lunch at a local hongkie style coffee shop "Cha Chaan Teng" 茶餐廳 called An Lee 安利 and the popular thing is ox tripes/offals/organs. Photo behind a cut.

Nearby was a Chinese temple. By three in the afternoon, I think I had taken up enough of his time so I said he can drop me off at the IFC so I can go have a look at City Super (a fancy supermarket with a lot of import goods) since I saw an ad for a Korean yoghurt, but it costed an astronomical amount, so I just gave the bottle of yoghurt a stink eye (HK $98! USD $13!!!!!!) and left.

Passed by an M&S and got my hands on some PLAIN scones and also a bag of Dino Crumpets. It's so cute! But the name crumpets made me think it'd be crunchie like a cookie or biscuit, but it's really just like... the "muffin" bread of a Sausage McMuffin.
