Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy world.
Dunno. Having your very own personal Daemon (or Deamon? been too long since I read that set of books) seems to be fun.
Then again Darren Shan's some-what humane Vampires seem interesting too.
Not really interested in the Harry Potter universe... or more like, I'm past that phase (I used to think about the HP-verse a lot, now, not so much)
