In this installment of a Discworld (side?) story, we are introduced to Tiffany Aching, a girl from a shepherd-family. Logical, sure-minded, and smart - she looks at things as they should be, and not as she would like it.
Those who have been reading the Discworld series would be familiar with the infamous Nac Mac Feegle, The Wee Free Men. The strong, the unbeatable, and general parasite thieves which it seems only Tiffany could command.
And dreams - when are they real? When are they just dreams? What are dreams anyway?
On a quest to save her brother who got kidnapped by the Queen of Fairyland (and just what does Fairyland look like?), Tiffany arms herself with a frying pan, her book on Diseases of Sheep, the Nac Mac Feegle, and a seemingly useless Toad.
The Wee Free Men might be a slightly harder read because of the language of the Nac Mac Feegle, but soon you learn to understand it. Again, there is the usual things that you have always known as it is, but Pratchett has a way to say it in the other way around and you still find it somehow rings true.
An enjoyable and a fast read. Aside for the Wee Free Men talking crivens, yer ken (you know).
