elusivekI did mention that I would be going to see a couple of movies from the so-called Taiwan Film Fest.
Today's show was the Taiwan Shorts, and that is, the 4 short movies... ha... I'm glad I have my priorities straight. The reason I chose to watch this was just because of the third movie, Time Lapse [Trailer Link], and I am proud to say that the best movie was... Time Lapse. Hah!
It's about a couple of kids who somehow stumble upon an antique photography studio, and how they changed through the old photographer's stories of each and every photograph. They, from being aimless, slowly learn to set a direction for themselves. I was most moved by, again, the topic of death. It was so interesting to hear about the story of the man who had no family, and decided to go take a photograph for his funeral. He was laughing heartily in that photo. Bittersweet. Also the story of the photographer's wife, when she died, saying they'll meet 10 years later... and true to her word, the photographer fell asleep that same night 10 years later and never woke up, despite the kids' attempts at keeping him company the whole night.
In short, I'm a big sucker for romance and a big sap.
I'm now feeling a bit sick and squeamish... ugh... guess i'll just wash up and head off to bed.
