I first heard of the Amish community in an episode of Bones (the one where the boy was a musical prodigy), and it was from there that I learnt that they were a people who lived very simply - no TV, no music, no telephone... So when I saw this book on Amazon listed as free (well, $2 delivery for me, but still...) I decided to get it.
Reading it was quite a pleasant experience. I imagine the Amish way of life would be very fulfilling... though being a grown city person, I will probably get bored of it pretty soon.
The book was an enjoyable read. However the whole Annie and Samuel thing was bit obvious... right from when they first met. It felt more like a "forced" eventual romance. And I wasn't too happy with where it stopped. So, what of the other girl, Sharon? And what of the pup?? What of Charity?? What IS the First Christmas and the Second Christmas like? Her Dad? Her apprenticeship!???
The end of the book left many things hanging, and now I'm just itching to find out what happens next.
