Argh! LJ ate half of my entry yesterday. I'm soooo mad! I am re-writing the whole thing again, but not deleting the previous post. Instead, it will stay friends only while this particular post will be public.

Feeling bored, I'm writing this post for the ones who want to know something about Macau....

Yesterday a friend posted this newspaper article (Chinese only) on Facebook. It's sad. In short, it's about the closing of a local "historic" restaurant, the Long Kei 龍記 (Dragon's). Opened in 1945, it has been operating for 66 years. It has sort of been my family (and extended family)'s usual gathering place. Also, as it's right smack in the middle of the Senate Square and with such a long history, it's also a very popular tourist restaurant. Well... You will be missed, Long Kei.

Talking about yesterdayI woke up to a very, very white morning here. Visibility was probaby less than 20 meters or so. I didn't even let my dogs run free, as visibility was so bad, I was afraid they would run into the fog and then we can't even find them although they are within a 50meter radius!

In this photo to the left, supposedly, you can still see the road divider thing dividing the 2 directions of a highway-sort-of-street. Further off should be a bus parking field. As you can see, visibility was just about until that tree on the right, and beyond that, it starts to be hazy.

With so much fog, you feel a lot of chill too. It's not exactly cold, but with the fog and the humidity, you do feel cold-ish... it's a different sort of cold!

And so I'm bombarding you with a few more photos. Haha. This above is a very classic scene I see everyday when I walk the dogs, day or not. The Macau Tower. Here you can Bungee Jump (as the name says) or Sky Jump (controlled falling), Mast Climb (climb up the top of the tower or something) and Sky Walk (walk around the outer ring at the top of the tower). All these deathly exciting activities are by AJ Hackett, and since I'm feeling generous, I dug the local site up for you.

Tickets for House of Dancing Water

On Sunday, I went to the City of Dreams to buy tickets for their show The House of Dancing Water. It's a water show that everyone says is good, so when my cousin and I had discount coupons we went to buy the tickets. However, there were a myriad of restrictions for the discount coupons, and, to keep a long story short, after much discussion with the older portion of the families (moms, aunts, and all) and learning of schedules, restrictions and more, it was decided that, I would get 2 Sunday tickets for 6-March with a small discount, thanks to my cousin's "City of Dreams Blue Membership Card" (it's a casino points-earning card), whereas my cousin bought 7 tickets of the lowest price WITH the discount coupons, for a Thursday. Since I was also looking to get a birthday present for my Sis, let the expensive tickets be it.

Dinner with guests

So we had steaks the other night. My aunt came over for dinner too. Oh boy... was the dinner good! The steaks though, were a bit on the thin side, so I though something was missing XD They could have been a bit more on the bloody side. I asked my Dad "what, there are no bloody steaks?" and he answered good-naturedly "yeah, no bloody steaks today. You want a bloody steak, you go to Morton's Steakhouse." It hurts, Dad, it hurts. When will I ever go to Morton's? Only when someone invites me there XD

Only in Macau!

Seeing as the current tourism campaign slogan here is "The Difference Is Macau", I have to say it suits Macau so perfectly. Looking at the photo, what do you see? First, you see the roadsign, the inverted triangle. It's a sign for road where supposedly cars are moving. Look well around the inverted triangle, and see that it's enclosed between brackets, and also a parking-meter. So it's a legal car park too! But the caveat is the yellow continuous line that runs just at the outline of the pedestrian... so... what is this? Is this really a legal car park? A no-park area? A "Give Way" stop point? The Difference is Macau!

Alright, I've made enough fun of things around here. I might be doing more of these Macau tidbits in the future. I just need to look for materials diligently! And also provided that LJ won't eat half my entry away. I think from now on I'll be keeping to writing only in HTML mode again. This reminds me of my days with Diaryland. haha!

The Macau tower looks just like the Sky tree tower in Tokyo 0_0.
