One more cake in the oven
Wednesday, 4 May 2011 22:53I just prepared to bake another cake just now, it's now in the oven.
But I'm not a happy kat right now. I baked the same recipe as the one I did day before yesterday. Yeah, it's the Orange Cake!
However, Dad just ruined it for me :/
You know, my Dad is a chef, and well, very experienced too. Executive chefs in a couple of international class hotels and such in his experience. So whenever you're in the kitchen and he says "hey do that" then I would very willingly do as he says. As the saying goes, "he's the chef" so he would know best.
Dad said to skip the reduced orange juice ,and instead used Tang, a Orange powder drink. I thought it wouldn't do much harm, until he said to add one more spoonful of baking powder. I thought it was because of the Tang orange drink. Well, orange drink, you need to add water, so I thought the extra baking powder was to, for a lack of a better word, give the cake more of a push.
He then said it was just because he wasn't sure if the baking powder was potent or not. WTF. We just baked the cake the day before yesterday, and the cakes rose fine. And now you doubt its effectiveness?
I have 2 cakes in the oven, one of them has already spilled over (joy). DAD SPOILED MY CAKE!!!!!!!! And it was supposed to be a cake for the office!! Usually I love my Dad but right this moment, I loathe him and my stupidity. He can be the chef but since the cake was supposed to be give-aways, NO EXPERIMENTING ON MY CAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *rantrantrantrantrantrantrantrantrantrantrant*
