Last year, there was a time when this French Guy was pretty famous in Macau. He is a French guy (i.e., a Foreigner, or, as we say, "Gweilo") who made videos teaching people to speak Cantonese. His videos were on Youtube, but then I think he took them all down and now it seems he's posting them again!

On that note, I think my friends are so going to make fun of me that I could speak fluent Cantonese and I could host a similar show. I'm a shy person by nature, so no thanks. And then they're going to make more fun of me saying that I'm a Gweimui (foreign girl) myself but I'm calling the guy a Gweilo when both of us are the same (meaning we're both foreigners). Ah, but I think it's different. I may look like a foreigner, but I believe I could be a pretty convincing Chinese at heart - when need be!

Date: 2011-05-25 20:13 (UTC)I think people who are able to speak Cantonese are quite impressive, because it just seems so hard! Much harder than Japanese! (I still have to admit I find Japanese the prettier language.. x_x)
