A Day In My Life
Saturday, 28 May 2011 23:25Since it's Saturday, everyone slept in for a bit and we woke up around 7:30am-ish.
After walking the dogs and having a light breakfast, I headed for a short morning outing. My first stop was the General Post Office to post a couple of letters.
Next, I wanted to go to the Ho-Tung Library, but as I passed by the Leal Senado Building, I saw there was a new exhibition up, so I went to have a look. Beautiful black and white paintings by Mr. Charles Chauderlot. Beautiful!
After that, I made my walk up the hill and finally reached the Ho-Tung Library. I returned the After Dark book and then headed up to sit in my favorite sofa by the full-length glass wall that gives a view to the garden outside of the library. But, my sofa was gone! They added 2 more rows of shelfing, so had to remove a sofa seat. The other corner sofa seat was occupied, so I had no discreet sofas for myself! Feeling annoyed, I was about to leave, when I decided to pick up one more Murakami book. But then I saw the book Goodbye Tsugumi by Banana Yoshimoto. The name Banana Yoshimoto sounded vaguely and distantly familiar to me. After borrowing it, I went to sit in the garden. There was a nice breeze blowing, so it wasn't half that bad!
After our brief scooter/bike window shopping, we went to McD's for ice cream. It was a bad idea. My throat is acting up again. Guess the doctor nailed my problem all right: hyper-sensitive respiratory system. Any change in temperature, humidity, smell, dust particles and I will start coughing like mad.
We had plans to take the dogs out on a hike, but both me and Dad were mysteriously tired. I fell into bed and napped for a good 3 hours!

Then I just decided to go home. Our building's elevator is being replaced, so I have to go to the opposite building to take the lift up (we have 2 interconnecting floors in these 2 buildings). As I walk through the interconnecting corridor, I get to see this view everyday. The mountain you see far off is China already.
Then I took some random photos of our varanda and the view out. We have a lot of these trees in Macau so everywhere you go it's red red red red red!
We decided to have lunch at Pacapio, or, the Fortune Noodles place.
Their Hainan Chicken Rice is the best in Macau!
Then we went to check out some motorbikes and scooters. I'm torn between the Yamaha CUTi and the Kymco Many. I think in the end I would get the Kymco Many. I don't need such an expensive bike, and the Kymco is a 110cc bike whereas the Yamaha is a 105cc. I know that doesn't make much difference.... but really, all that I'm going to use the bike for is to go from home to my car, why pay the extra money? But the CUTi is a lot nicer in design. OH I don't know. Our mechanic advises me NOT to get a Vespa. It's a very good bike but it's going to be a pain in the ass to find spare parts or fix it in Macau. So yeah. No Vespa for me.

We did bring the dogs out for their standard walk though, so it's good!
For dinner, Mom made a beef stew with her new kick-ass China Bimbi knock-off rice cooker thingie! Dad plans to start to make his ice cream tonight, if he does it, he's going to have a lot of egg white leftover, then we can make souffles with this Bimbi knock-off machine too!
Man, even with my afternoon nap I'm beat right now. I guess I'll just go wash up and go to bed....
