This was a superfast read.

My colleague's daughter read the Chinese version of this book (I think?) and recommended this to her Mom (which is, my colleague) and my colleague had brought it to the office today. I commented that the synopsis sounded interesting and she lent me the book. I finished it a little after dinner.

This was quite a fascinating read - because of a simple coincidence. Just last week, I watched an episode of "Perception", and the guy was dealing with woman that had this "cannot retain new memory" condition; which reminded me of a Harry Potter fanfiction I had read long time ago too, I think it was Draco that had that condition.

So, this Christine has this condition that she cannot retain "new" memories. And "old" ones too. By some event she startes writing notes. What unravels is really chilling! However, all's well by the end of the book so I think it's a happy ending book.

I will admit that there were parts of the conversation (or recounted conversation) that was quite hard to follow, but overall quite an easily understandable book.

A better mystery solver might have figured everything out somewhere quite in the beginning of the book... I picked up the clues well enough (I scored a couple of ideas!) but as I was busy reading the book and not reflecting on what I'd read so I didn't connect the dots until they spelled it all out to me. I wasn't much surprised, probably because of the clues, but somehow it also felt somehow of a cliche (like standard procedure for plots)

Anyway, this book kept me on my toes - it did make me read the whole thing in one go!
