making an honest effort to write regularly

yes, i am making the effort!

this week has been hellish for me... the boss was particularly demanding on Friday and it was driving me up the wall... there is only one good old me, and i can't splice myself so that there are more mes working in the office...

funny thing is, i had a little bit of free time on thursday, so i set up one of the left behind PCs on the empty desk next to me... so that if and when a new assistant is hired, it is all set up already... (if and when), then the PC's all set and all... the boss asked, "What are you, IT?" my answer "I'm competent enough to do some IT things as well." Well, we have the world's most interesting IT department.

If a PC has some problems, they don't VPN to check. They say it's not allowed. So they have to schedule a technician to come over to check. If it is determined that it needs a big fix, technician will just walk away, and you have to bring the PC to the IT office to get it fixed.

Nice. I remember the IT in my previous workplace would come, give me a replacement PC, then take the faulty one to fix. This company I'm currently working at has forced me to learn a little bit more about computers.

11 days until my short holiday to Taiwan... I plan to only bring sundresses there. I will only bring my small camera. No more DSLRs... I want this to be an easygoing trip, no heavy lifting....

I need to fight through the coming week!

I took the DSLR last year to Austria and Japan, and while the photos came out really nice, it was just such a bother to lug that around. I now bought a smaller Lumix GM1, which is the size of a point and shoot, but is also a DSLR... I'll be taking that one for holidays now...

if the computer needs fixing shouldn't the technician be the one taking the computer away instead of the user?
