My mom says the darndest things

Once again I've gone and disappeared, but, life is just so busy. That and I was in a bout of altered mentality for a bit the past few weeks - I didn't want to do any other thing other than read read and read.

So recently we heard from our neighbour that her grandson is coming back. I'm not sure if he finished his studies overseas or not. Apparently the kid got some girl knocked up.

Which, then, my Mom, said to the neighbour, "Don't they kids know how to avoid babies?"

uhm... Mom, very tactless. And I remember back then when I was commenting to Mom that a friend of mine is getting married because of a baby, and Mom went all "she can have the kid alone, can't she?"

uhm... Mom gives off such, I don't know, independence or something. It's sometimes scary.

So about the neighbour's grandkid expecting, I asked Mom why she's being so reactive. She just shrugged.

Then promptly said, "I'd rather keep a couple more dogs than have to deal with kids!"

Oh wow. Talk about stress relief. So I don't have to worry about giving her grandkids. Yay. Seems my cousins' kids have given quite an impression.
