Hey, it's December!

So, I had my Portuguese Exam today. I only knew of it last week. I meant to study for it, but of course, things just happen and I never got to study any of it.
I think I did OK. Though I've got a sneaking suspicion that in that school, those teachers don't mean to teach at all. They teach you something, then the listening comprehension part is not only of a totally different matter, but the questions are all tricky. I'd understand you using that to test kids whose mother tongue is Portuguese, but I really doubt they should use that for learners.
The teacher was so disorganized that when I asked for extra paper to write my blasted bullshitful of a composition, she said she didn't have. So I had to open my notebook and tear off a page for that. Who leaves 0.5cm line spacing for a handwritten composition space? Oh yeah she does.
aside from that, nothing much exciting is happening. Dad will go to the hospital tomorrow and fingers crossed, hopefully the doctor won't keep him. I'm already slightly put out that we are skipping our yearly Christmas Cookies production. We used to have so much fun back then, with our dog Peppie.
Here's a couple photos of Peppie doing the all important work of quality checking:
I also have a video but I'm not sure if the Flickr video sharing is as easy as youtube...
My dear Peppie (bless him) is not with us anymore, so the cooking experience is a little different, but yeah, it kind of is a yearly thing between me and my Dad...

Date: 2015-12-05 13:24 (UTC)I grew up speaking Portuguese, but I've never studied it, so I have a weird kind of fluency that I can speak it alright but I lack vocabs, and if you go high-level grammar, such as legal speak or just plain newspaper type of writing, then I'm lost, and it's like I don't speak a word of Portuguese.
Going to the course now is just a way and an excuse to make me study it properly. The downside is, the classes are really boring to me as I know how to do all those exercises, I just don't know why a certain answer is this one certain way....
