1. What is the last animated feature that you saw and enjoyed?
Zootopia

2. What cartoons did you watch growing up? Favorite characters?
Okay, I'll blur the lines of Cartoons and Anime since essentially, Animes are Cartoons (but some people will argue, but okay).
Western stuff, not much. I remember the Anamaniacs and whatever came within the show (Pinky and the Brain, etc). Tom and Jerry is a classic, I have some memory of Mighty Mouse. Interestingly enough I wasn't a big on Disney cartoons. I knew of the classic ones - Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and probably watched most of them, though I have no memory of those.

Japanese stuff, it was a lot (but probably not much compared to true fans/viewers/whatever). There's always the well known Sailor Moon (but of course), but there were other classics like Creamy Mami, Orange Road, Maison Ikkoku, Slayers, Saint Seiya, Yuyu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, Tonde Buurin, Fushigi Yuugi, Yuugi-Oh, many of those toy mini-car race cartoons, Mashin Eiyuu-den, etc etc etc. I don't even know what some are called in Japanese or English as those were stuff shown on the Hong Kong TV (and internet was not a thing back then)

3. Is there an animated show/film that you dislike?
There SHOULD be something. But I don't recall.

4. How do you think animation could be innovative in the future?
I actually don't think anything has to be innovative in terms of technology. I think that 3D animations, while cool, are overrated. The point of animation is to showcase artwork, attention to detail, special effects and recreate stuff that usually can't happen, happen (like talking animals). Those were always the interesting things in animation. But now it's all moot, as you can blend animation in real-life movies, and whatever else technology can do.

5. Would you post a link to an animated short or film that you think is particularly special or interesting?
I'm waiting for The Secret Life of Pets and just noticed a new (for me) trailor::

I think it's a shame that so much animation is computer-generated now. It must have taken amazing artistic skills and hours and hours of painstaking work to create drawn animations.

I agree. I understand that computer generated animation also takes a lot of time and work and I'm not undermining that, but... I don't know how to express what I want to say... it's like calculations. You have to appreciate the people who do by hand or paper calculations and not just rely everything on the calculator.
