1. How many pets have you had at one time?
Right now I have 5. Four dogs and a cat. I've always been surrounded by animals, despite living in the city since birth. Even in baby photos I see I had dogs around me. There was a period of time around 2002-2004 that we didn't have any pets (no wait, we had no dogs, but I think we had Charlie the Turtle already at that time) because we had just renovated the apartment and my Dad and Sis got relocated to Austria, so me and my Mom we decided it would be too much work to handle dogs, but eventually we got Peppie due to my Aunt-also-Godmother got too sick to care for her dog and her son (one of my cousins) wasn't arsed enough to take care of the dog for her.
2. What is the strangest pet you have ever had?
Hm... by Macau standards, I guess... ferrets? I understand that ferrets are pretty common pets elsewhere though?
3. What is the coolest trick you have ever taught a pet?
Every growing kid that had dogs would always have one perfect dog from "when I was a kid" or "back then". My dog Fufu was my perfect dog. A plain brown mutt, she was the runt of the litter and the only female out of a litter of 7, so nobody wanted her. I begged my parents so much to let me keep her, and they let me.
Back then my Dad had a restaurant in the "countryside" (as "countryside" as you can get here in Macau, let's just say the local green area). The restaurant somehow got a dog, Foxy, she looked like a fox, and my Dad tried to keep her off the restaurant grounds. He was pretty cruel to her, really, he scared her, chased her off, even beat her. But one day when he opened his car door, intending to get home, Foxy just hopped into his car... well... then he brought her home. Then he decided to keep her at the restaurant as a guard dog, and eventually had the first litter of 5 puppies - 3 males, 2 females, all got rehomed. Then her second litter of 7 puppies - 6 males and 1 female, and this is how we got Fufu.
Anyway, Fufu knew all the great tricks. Sit, shake/paw, lie down, don't eat, eat, wait, jump, etc. She even knew hand gestures. We can walk her off leash and then call her and point to a direction and she would go to that direction.
4. Real animals: What animal have you always wanted as a pet?
Dogs will always be enough for me, but at one point in time I was pretty interested in hedghogs!
5. Imaginary animals: Describe the ideal pet, an animal that doesn't really exist.
I don't know. Dogs are perfect already, we don't need any other more perfect animal. Perhaps for dogs to have a longer life would make them more perfect?

Date: 2016-05-13 18:12 (UTC)i LOVE dogs and i grew up with them, but now i don't know if i can get one because of my cats. it's kind of tragic, but i love my cats so much and i wouldn't want to upset them. was never planning on having cats, but i worked at a cat rescue shelter for a while, and.... well, you know.
