I mean it and I don't mind it.

So my Wordless Wednesday Post this week is a drawing I did long long long long long long time ago. There's a story why it came up.

Today, one of my dogs wasn't feeling well. She threw up in the elevator and just generally didn't look too ok. So after work, (I got off work early), I rushed home to check on the dog and the apartment. I placed everything I had on my bed, and went walking around the apartment to check for any, you know, vomit or anything.

The reason I put everything on my bed is, I hate leaving my stuff out in "public areas". (I hate that about my sister, she leaves EVERYTHING lying around EVERYWHERE).

So while the parents are out in Europe, Mom told us to "bring water home from work" because we don't have a water filter (the filtered water is more gross than the unfiltered water) so we usually buy our drinking water. Dad used to be 3-4 bottles every week (at 5L, that's 20L of water weekly) and then we refill it to our mini water dispnser thing.

Well, so, apparently, I didn't twist my bottle of water well, so all that stuff I put on my bed? When I got back to see, my bed was soaked. The duvet, the linen, the mattress cover, the mattress, EVERYTHING was soaked through.

Shit.

It was night already by then, so I could only switch on all the aircons, and undress the mattress to the bare core. My mattress is a (was) a special polyster whatever thingamajoo material so it came zipped up in another mattress cover, I removed that as well. All cloth things went to the laundry and then the dryer. The mattress? I had to move it out to the living room, prop it against a few chairs, and put the dehumidifyer right underneath the mattress. Switched on the air con to full blast.

With the mattress out, I saw a load of paper crap I had hidden under the mattress, so that's how that drawing came back. Huh. I sucked at coloring since back then, haha.

Everything seems dry now but I'm still somewhat uneasy about it. I'd feel better if I were given the chance to put the mattress under the sun. I need to sleep tonight, so I guess tough luck, I'll sleep on it, and I don't dare put it out in the open without someone in the flat, (you know, it might rain)... next best is this weekend when I have done all the chores then I can wrangle that mattress out there.

I guess it's really the first time in my life that I was happy about my single mattress - if it were a double bed, then I wouldn't have been able to move it at all.

So with all that work with the mattress and the covers, I didn't have time to do my usual yoga and biking on a non-running day. Though, wrangling the inner mattress back into the mattress cover was workout enough, I'd say.

Hope you had a good laugh at my misfortune. That way at least even my misfortune helped to cheer someone up.

You draw really well.

Contra possible expectations, I am sorry for your difficulties (I'd expect other readers to feel sympathetic as well).

At least, as you say, your matttress is not a double. When I've helped people move, getting a queen-sized or so mattress around was like wrestling with a sea monster.

The photo's nice.

yeah, I guess I'm lucky on that. (there's actually quite a story about that single bed) but ohwell!

Thanks!

Awww... I'm sorry about the mattress fiasco!! That kind of thing can be so frustrating, even if it is a little funny looking back!

Love the picture with the kitty :)

I'm already laughing at that incident, so it's all forgotten ;-)

Thanks. Since she was acting pretty normal, just seeming to have an upset stomach, we decided to keep watch. So she's been busy being a choosy eater and eating very little (or nothing), we see she drinks water and her pee pee's normal but her poo-poo's a bit on the runny side. We were thinking of taking her to the vet if she continued not to eat today, but she's finally eating everything, so we'll wait one more day and see if her poo-poo turns back more normal.

I did the same thing, too, with the water bottle except it was over a leather car seat.
