Countdown

So it was the moon festival yesterday, or the mid-autumn festival. Lots of mooncake and fireworks. Both of which I didn't bother to eat nor watch. However I heard that last night was Japan's show and apparently it was really good.

I scoured around and found this news article: http://www.macaushimbun.com/archives/17989

So this morning out of the blue I updated my Japanese blog. It just shows that if you don't practice a language you just get rusty and then stuck. I wasn't able to express myself as easily (I wouldn't say fluent, as I was never fluent-level, but I'd say ease. I used to be able to just write or say whatever I wanted, grammar status notwithstanding), so I guess I have to push myself to write something on a regular basis now.

By the end of October I'm going to start my new German course. I got a bit annoyed by all those online courses that I never keep up with, so I went to an actual course that I have to physically attend.

The catch?

Classes are in Hong Kong. I've already gone for a placement test and was told I should start at the A1-4 level. This course is going to cost me a pretty penny, what with transportation and all that (ferry tickets... say MOP$400 round trip every time I have to go to a class, not including transport costs when in Hong Kong). The actual course itself is actually not expensive at all.

And I can just imagine all the shit my Mom is going to give me for applying a course in Hong Kong. hah.

I'm so chuffed that in less than 7 days I'll be out in Europe. Wheeee! But only now I started to think about something else - it's the Balkans, they don't use the Euro, and I can't change any local currency here... so I guess I'll just hold onto the Euros that I have and hope for the best. I'm going to take so many photos! I have 3 memory cards on the ready.

I have most of my clothes packed. I just need a piece of luggage. I'm going to borrow one from my cousin tomorrow, then everything can go in and then I can see how much space I can expect to be able to stuff new shopping in.

Aaaaand that's it for now, haha!

Have a great time!

And what is German, your fourth or fifth language? I admire you!

Thanks!
German is actually the 6th language I'm trying to learn (did French for 3 years and Japanese 4 years - at one point in time I was able to converse in both, but now... lack of practice... meh) I think the key really is being able to practice it!

Sounds like you have an exciting trip coming up and the course, well, it will come with its own special challenges. Travel safe!

I've thought about going back to my Japanese blog.
The more I meet my friends, the less I blog in Japanese. I guess because I practice enough while I am with them? I only ever write in Japanese when I have long periods in between seeing them.
