The last few weeks or so have been like... movie binge weeks. I’ve gone and watched quite a number of movies at that “indie-moviehouse” thing I’ve mentioned previously. So far, what did I watch?

- Sorry Angel (France?)
- Girl (Belgium)
- Asako I & II (Japan)
- An | Sweat Bean (Japan/France/Germany, I think)
- Everyday a good day (Japan)
- Chronicle of my mother (Japan)

I’m now sitting and waiting for the last one to start. The last 3 Japan movies are the recent features because of the Japanese Actress Kirin Kinki who passed away a while ago. There supposed to be another movie (forgot the name, it’s about a thieving family) but I had watched that previously already.

Sorry angel was a bit boring for me. AIDS-centric and I found it a little hard to believe that a regular person would have such reactions (erm... I’ve forgotten character names... but I mean the kid)

Very impressed with Girl. But not for the acting... more for the guy that did actually look like a girl.

Asako I & II - the acting was good but the story was shit, really wanted to punch the girl

An - very good movie. Right amount of Japanese style “you gotta read between the lines” thing and very deep. I understood it. A touch on leprosy.

Everyday a good day - it was good but it was too much Japanese style “you gotta read between the lines”.... I couldn’t and didn’t quite understand what it really wanted to say. Tea-ceremony centric.

Not sure about the last one as I’m waiting for the movie to start.

There is so much to say about my recent life but of so little time to actually write it. I’ve sort of gotten a little lazy with my journal but I am catching up. (I managed to write everyday in 2018 and wanted to take a break in 2019 but am feeling sorry about my 2019 Journal so now I feel guilty and have to catch up. Lucky it’s stoll beginning of January).

Movie starting, talk later!

Girl was one of the films at the Leeds Films Festival that my husband saw but I didn't. He loved it and I regretted not seeing it.
