Silence in Golden

OMG I am in heaven right now.
Why do I say I’m in heaven? I have the apartment to myself.
There is no one to bug me about “why is my phone acting this way” or “what do I have to do to get this computer working?”
It’s not that I don’t want to help my parents, but, honestly, they have 2 daughters. I work on stuff like meeting minutes or some homework or another, while my sis is just on her iPad watching Netflix or a comic or something. Why do they have to bug me? And it’s not like, they do as I say. I resolve their problem, then it’s like they want a reconfirmation, and ask my sis again.
It’s quiet
Since my sis is alway on her iPad on Netflix... and she doesn’t use her earphones, so it’s always so noisy. Or she has the TV on. A couple days ago, we were having dinner and they put the TV on. There was a documentary going on. When dinner finished, I was still sitting there watching the show and my sis comes by and just starts channel surfing! I mean, I know, I won’t die if I don’t watch that show, and I’m not really miffed about not being able to watch it, but she could at least ask before commandeering the remote, can’t she? I was more miffed at her rudeness than not watching the show.
No one smoking
We (read: my Mom) have big fights when my Dad smokes out in the balcony. I’ve reached a point where I don’t care if he doesn’t care for his health. What I care is that his cigarettes frigging stinks and makes me cough. Since my room window actually faces the balcony, I get to smell all that stinky stuff when he’s smocking.
The dogs don’t bother me
Maybe because the dogs know I’m not “nice” (I don’t feed them snacks outside of food times) so they are all just sleeping. If my Dad were around, they’d be tailing him, begging for food and all that. And my Dad being a softie he totally crumbles and will just start distributing cookies for the dogs. *rolleyes*
I need to savor the quiet. Close my eyes, and immerse myself into the silence...
- My sister is on a 2-week trip to Japan
- My dad went out for some sort of culinary or tourism industry cocktail thing
- My mom went on a sudden trip with her group of friends... on an adventure to try to take the bus that crosses the Macau-Hong Kong-China bridge thing.
