My Dream Car
Monday, 10 February 2020 16:52So I spent the weekend putting a bootleg Lego model together. My cousin got me this a few Christmasses ago, and finally I had the time to do it. The Volkswagen Beetle is my dream car! It's so cute! Now I can say I have it.... a model of it LOL
I didn't shoot the name as well, but it's a "Lepin" brand, probably a knock-off Lego or something LOL. I haven't done any proper Lego models, so I can't compare the instruction booklet or the packing, but comparing it with the Nanoblocs, this is really a pain. The pieces are all mixed up together with no apparent sequence so it was more painful to sort out the pieces I need, rather than actually putting the pieces together.
So I can only guess that it's because it's bootleg Lego, so there's a couple of missing pieces. For me it's 2 missing pieces, one for the ice box, one for the steering wheel. I'm not even going to bother checking if this bootleg Lego company has a customer service to deal with missing pieces.
Look how cute it is! And you can open the hood to access the spare tire LOL
The doors are all openable, and the seats can recline and all that. The steering wheel has a missing piece and I looked through all packaging and couldn't find it. It's a circle piece to work as a stopper for the steering wheel so it isn't stuck too deep into the rod for the steering wheel. What I did was just to not push the steering wheel all the way down.
The backside as well, you can open it for the engine. There's also a beach towel rolled up inside! But I doubt I'd play with it with taking stuff out.
And inside the ice box, there are beers and bottles and ice too! The ice box red is one of the pieces that had a missing piece. But I think I did a good job in strategically placing the box, so you don't see the missing corner, LOL.
Now, I have to look for a model display box that fits, then this is going up on my shelf. I have one more car to put together (a Mini Cooper) but this has already taken a lot of my mindpower this weekend, I'll wait till some other time to do that.
