Signs that my English is failing me: I said running machine instead of treadmill LOL
So, I bought a treadmill. I did a lot of research on that. Checked out the China shopping platform Taobao, found the recent hot company is Xiaomi, checked their treadmills out.
Their treadmills are more “walkers” than running machine. Nice flat design and foldable. But in the end, I didn’t want the hassle of having to send it back to China if anything happens (returns, maintenance, etc), so I went local.
Found one, can be folded, took all measurements, and even found a tiny corner in my room to stow it...
And when it arrived, apparently the measurements did not take into account a slight protrusion at the base that’s the wheels, so it didn’t fit that tiny corner in my room by 0.5cm! I could go hunt for a slightly slimmer... dresser(?), but in the end the parents suggested another location which seems to be working out.
Dogs were curious when I was trying it out last night. The Frenchie actually, by his own accord, stepped up and walked for a bit. Now I have to figure out a system that could dangle the proverbial carrot so as to keep him walking LOL
My other Mutt Sai-Lup was curious too, but he has a permanent injury (torn ligament in a hind leg) so we are trying to convince him not to go up, as he really shouldn’t be exerting too much work on his hind legs. But yet, he needs to slim down.
As for me, I’ll take advantage of that when it’s raining or I feel like running during the day... as it’s turning into summer and daytime runs are brutal now. Or when it’s late-ish and I still need to get my walking steps in but feel lazy to go out late at night.
In other words: I wonder how long I’d be using it for, LOL
