Typhoon Higos
Wednesday, 19 August 2020 06:16I woke up at 5am just now (it's 6am now) and there's a typhoon out. Typhoon Higos...... warning signal #10... the strongest signal there is..... strongest wind speed near the eye is like 126 km/h and it IS scary out there.
We've secured our potted plants but I see there's a bush that has been de-potted and gone. At least the pot is still there. I guess.
Shit it's scary why couldn't I have slept through that. I'm supposed to wake up at 7am only.
Storm signal and flood warning is out, but it's ok, we live on high ground. Electricity should be out too, but again, we live on high ground and we live in the area where the government headquarters are so the area kind of gets priority when shit happens.
It's gonna be a no-work day for me but my sis says she has to get to the shelter; good luck to her. I guess the dogs aren't going to get walked as it's a disaster out there.
So far, nothing major has been reported. I guess due to Typhoon Hato 3 years ago everyone is better prepared now. But what I'm saying is, the wind itself is scary. Especially when there are sudden strong gusts.... I'm kind of imagining my windows getting blown in.
Argh... I guess I'm gonna go fill up my bottles with water in case there's a water shortage later.
