elusivekI had a funny incident with a group of ATMs yesterday.
We had a birthday lunch yesterday, and due to the prolonged COVID19 avoid gathering thing, we hadn't had these birthday lunches in a while, so we've sort of mashed up a few birthdays together.
We had the July lunch in July but a birthday kid couldn't attend, and now with the August lunch I had more than 1 gift to give away.
By this time, I've given up on hunting for gifts. Just a Lai-See (or Hongbao) would do for anyone, and that's what I did. I know. Easy way out. Haha.
Anyway....
As my life has now sort of become cashless as well (electronic payment, credit cards, "Oyster card" type of money cards, etc) so I didn't really have the cash to prepare these red envelopes.
I went to an ATM. After keying in my passcode and all that, it states it can only spit out 100s and 1000s.
I needed 500s.
Okay, went to hunt for another ATM. It had 100s and 500s. So OK. I ask for 1000 as the ATM would spit out 2 notes of 500. Nooooooo. A 500 and 5x100.
Again had to put the card in and just ask for 500. Spits out 5x100 again. Geez.
Put the card in again and ask for 600. Spits out 1x500 and 1x100. FINALLY.
Then I had to hunt for a CDM so that I can deposit the extra 100s back into my account.
Never thought I would have a history with these machines. Am I getting old?
