Long weekend
Saturday, 3 October 2020 11:50Another proof that I'm a workaholic: after the public holiday of Thursday and Friday, I thought today is Monday, and woke up very early... only to later find out, it's still Saturday.
The apartment viewing did happen in the end, nice apartments indeed, but I can't afford them. The lady did mention some government initiatives for first time buyers and all that, but I suck at numbers, and unless someone is willing to sit down with me and very carefully explain to me what these initiatives are and then show me how to calculate what I'm going to pay back every month in the future, I'm not going into unfamiliar territory.
I wrote a post once about how although I'm not like, super rich, but I've always been lucky with money. Here is proof again! I was just sorting out some cables and found my stash of Lai Si (or Hongbao) from Christmas 2019 and my birthday 2020 and maybe Chinese New Year 2020. That's quite a bit of money, I'll put most of it in the bank and keep a few notes in cash as spending money. I hardly use cash anymore, now with all those e-payments and whatnot.
I've been good. I've been reading! Frankie keeps me company too!
And this is a funny shot in the morning... for such a small dog she sure takes up a lot of space on the bed. And she's a Dachshund mix, so, she's long, even more so since she's stretched out sideways.
I still have an hour to kill as I have a lunch date with my friends C and P. They are my travel buddies, but with the COVID-19 situation we don't expect to be able to travel this year... I'm not optimistic about next year either. So we can only meet up for exotic meals. We're going to have Thai today. I fancy some real good shrimp cakes and a coconut slush ice drink.

Date: 2020-10-03 07:33 (UTC)Being such a small place, we actually got the COVID situation pretty much controlled. To date, we only have 40-something infections/confirmed cases, and all have recuperated. No new case since April or so. The government has really clamped on incoming travel. No tourists allowed to come in, if you don’t have a residency card, and even so, you still need to go on an enforced quarantine.
