This and that and the Austrian National Day

It’s a Monday and everyone is off today. We slept in! It’s really a joke. We usually walk the dogs at 7.30am. By “today we slept in”, it just meant walking the dogs... at 8.30am, LOL!

Last night I had the sudden motivation to just pick up the Kindle and start reading! I’m currently reading Lady in Waiting: My Extraordinary Life in the Shadow of the Crown by Anne Glenconner. Fascinating read, and it flows so easily. I’m only a little confused that with temperatures they are using Fahrenheit in the book. I thought only the US uses Fahrenheit and everywhere else uses Celsius? Maybe I got the US version of the book? Most probably, since the international Kindle store is based on Amazon US.

I guess I read until 1am and then simply switched off the lights for sleep.

Which was a bad idea because I woke up at 4am with the great need to pee LOL.

Anyway, I went back to sleep and then properly woke up at 7am. I didn’t feel like going to the bathroom again (lest I announce my consciousness to anyone and any dog that’s up), and just picked up the kindle and continued reading. The apartment stirred at 8am so we went ahead to walk the dogs.

Overall another lazy day, though I did half and hour of stretch and then almost an hour of yoga. I contemplated putting on Netflix but didn’t feel like sitting down looking at the TV, so of course the logical thing to do was sitting down reading the Kindle, hahaha! I’m so contrary LOL.

It’s the Austrian National Day today so Dad wants to make deep fried chicken. He does a mean chicken schnitzel that has the right airy puffy schnitzel crust that certainly a proper Wiener Schnitzel must possess.

He already made a pumpkin Swiss roll which I’ve tried, but doesn’t taste much pumpkin, instead I would imagine that’s what a proper American Pumpkin Spice Something would taste like. (Really, I don’t know what a pumpkin spice anything would taste like. I could try it at Starbucks, but... I tend to only have a vanilla foam cold brew from Starbucks)

But I have to say that Swiss Roll that made is really good. He said he decided to use up all the cinnamon we had, so the Swiss Roll tasted more like Cinnamon Rolls than than the Cinnamon Rolls he tried to make 2 months or so ago.

Anyway, I shall wait faithfully for dinner. No photos today. Nothing too exciting today... and dinner not served yet.

Hey and extra hour of sleep is always nice!

I imagine I would like the pumpkin swiss roll. I don't like pumpkin flavor but I love pumpkin spice flavored stuff. XD

Pumpkin swiss roll sounds heavenly!
