(A bit of context: I finally bought a carpet to put at my bedside. It's a game changer! Especially in the mornings when I find out the dogs have kicked off my slippers away!)

I feel like preventing cold feet is the only reason to have carpet. I want the carpet in my house goneeeeee. I'm glad ya got a rug for your feet!

Oh, I feel that. As a kid we had full carpeted floors in our bedrooms for around 20 years, it sounds like a good idea but the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance was terrible! When we had our first renovations, I told my mom I wanted the carpet gone, and off it went. We had wood flooring (that was beneath the carpet) for another 10 years. For our most recent renovations, we changed out the wood flooring to a wood-patterned ceramic tiles. Very easy to maintain (no need to polish like with wood, no need to worry about wood rotting), but the only thing is the floor is cold now. So, a bedside carpet is good :-)

That's awesome! Yeah, I'd really like something like ceramic! I just feel our house would be so much cleaner and fresh if we didn't have the carpet.
