Friday Five Double 14-May-2021
Friday, 14 May 2021 23:22First off,

1) Have you ever done something awful to your hair? What happened?
Hm.... not really. I'm really pretty conservative with hair. Well, conservative in the way that I don't get myself crazy hair. Though I remember as a kid there was a time when I had a "double cut" which, I really never understood why it's called a double cut. Now as I search and look at photos it's definitely not that. So, I dunno.
2) Conversely, at what time in your life have you looked your best?
Hey, I have always looked my best any time LOL LOL LOL though seriously, I think my keeping my hair short in a pixie cut suits me best. I used to have real long hair as a kid and then cut it short, and then grew it long again for a perm... I like having short hair best.
3) Do you have a favorite article of clothing? Tell us what and why.
My current pair of work shoes. They are heels, but they are not too high. Also, the heels are large (not thin like stilettos) so they are actually really comfortable.
4) Confess the worst fashion trend you ever succumbed to.
I never succumbed to any fashion trend, pronto. When the "friendship band" thing became a hit, I didn't care for it. When it was the age of short shorts with really high boots, I didn't care for it. I never really cared for the "IN-now fashion". I liked things that I thought looked nice, that's it. Recently I'm into stones.
5) Are there any clothing/fashion trends today that you simply don't understand?
As I don't really follow fashion trends, what I'm about to say is probably already dated, so.... I don't understand when people wear glasses - frames only. No lense. Why TF would you wear glasses frames only? I'd really like to poke at your eyes when I see you wearing frames only.

1) In what area of your life are you skating on thin ice?
Erm... no?
2) What evidence do you have recently that practice does or does not make perfect?
Erm... keyboard shortcut keys? LOL. I mean, there are ways to get things done, and the perfect example is writing documents... you can format as you type line by line, or, you can do like me, and as you are writing you are already thinking about the formatting steps and using shortcut keys to achieve what you want. I was drafting a form and a colleague behind me was laughing at my messy screen (I was using tabs on Word) but then when I was done and I clicked a few buttons my document suddenly became a fully formatted form with lines and perfectly indentations.
3) When did you most recently interact with a police officer?
*thinks* oh a couple weeks back I picked up a credit card in the street. I tried to call the bank hotline, but apparently hotlines are really fake in that, if it's a hotline, it's supposed to be 24 hours, but no, I got a recording that "the hotline is closed" *rolls eyes* so I had to go to the police station. Now, if you go to a police station, you need to show proper ID, but I didn't have proper ID on me because I was dog walking, which usually entails, strictly, going from home to the dog park and back home, no detours. The policeman looked at me, and I just said, "well, obviously I'm not an illegal immigrant and am local, I'll show you my ID copy on the phone".
4) Which business establishments do you patronize because you like their customer service? Which do you avoid because of poor customer service?
This is a tough one, because I hardly go to a store because of the service. I go to a store because of its wares. I do have a preferred vet because of his skills and the nurses' friendliness and I do avoid a vet because the vet himself is rude. And sometimes, even if a store's service is bad, but if it's the sole supplier of that particular thing you need, you can't go anywhere else for it. This is Macau.
5) How will you make good choices this weekend?
I don't know, avoid choices? LOL. I have a massage and facial tomorrow, then I have a vet visit later in the evening. Sunday I'm going to slice my soap (I went on a class to make soap a couple weeks back) and maybe go have a look-see at a proper previous stones jewelry shop. I don't know the "good" in the question is based on what. "Good" as in "not evil"? "Good" as in "good for me/someone/environment"?
