1) What's your favorite dish to bring to a summer cookout?
"Summer cookout" is non-existent here, at least, within my immediate cultural background.
2) How much time have you spent outdoors this week?
I would say accumulative of 2 hours daily (dog walk, walk to work, walk to lunch)... and then maybe 4 hours on weekends due to out window shopping or some other activities.
3) Where do you set your thermostat?
Well... how do I explain this. The concept of thermostat is pretty new here, I think. We know it's a thing of course. But there isn't really a need to have a thermostat at home because the weather stays pretty constant. Daily temperature fluctuation is low. There isn't a big difference between morning temperatures to noon to evening. People know not to hang around outdoors around noon as it's the hottest. Over 30C the whole day. Even in winter, it's pretty constant throughout the day; if it's a particularly cold day, say 9C or so, then it stays within 8C-11C. If it's a chilly day it'll stay around 14C-18C. It can be comfortable in the 20sC. Over 27C is hot.
Though now that I have plants, now I do keep a thermostat in different places to ensure I have the right range for the plants. But for a person dealing with the weather? There is no need for a thermostat.
4) How did you learn to swim?
Mom sent me so some swim class as a kid. I was able to swim a proper freestyle and breaststroke back then. But once the course was over, I totally forgot it all. If you kick me into the water, I probably won't drown as I can still float, but I won't be a strong swimmer.
5) How do you avoid overheating?
ACs are the norm here and because of the dogs I try to stay home as much time as possible so that I am sure the apartment doesn't get too hot for them. But back in the period when we were in-between dogs, in order to save on electricity, I'd just leave home and head over to my university or the library, because those had AC and really COLD AC!
