You can have an amusing chuckle from my incident LOL.

It wasn't funny as I encountered it, but now that I'm all better, I think it was funny. Haha.

So, because I have short hair, when I shower at night, I don't wash my hair. Because even if I dry it with the hair dryer, after a night of sleep, I have my hair sticking all over like a Super Saiyan or whatever in the morning. Or I should say, I have my hair sticking all over in the morning ANYWAY. So I just wash my hair in the morning. And because I had showered the night before, I only wash my hair in the morning, meaning, I don't want to get my body wet, so I bend over the side of the bathtub to wash my hair.

- May I just take this chance to say DEJA VU! I kind of have memory of writing the above text once already. I know this accident happened to me once before, but is it true that I did that once and wrote about that already, or this is really a case of deja vu? -

This morning, as I was washing my hair, I felt a very slight crick in my lower back. I thought "oh shit" and continued to wash my hair. Since I have short hair, it's just a quick wet my hair, one pump of shampoo, lather, scrub, whatever, and rinse. Well. It was quick. And when I stood up.

OH SHIT.

I couldn't straighten my back. It hurt like hell. Anyway, I had to walk like a 90-year old woman. Or a heavily pregnant woman but without the baby bump. I don't know. It was excruciating. And then my bloody dog refused to walk and I had to carry her.

It wasn't so bad if I was already standing up or was already sitting down. It's the act of standing up, sitting down, stretch and reaching out that can't do... meh.

When I got into the office this morning my colleagues knew already. "What's got you walking so slowly?" So once 10am rolled by I called the chiropractor/acupuncturist/therapy doctor clinic and got myself an appointment in the morning. It's weird that the doctor put two points of acupuncture somewhere on the back of my shoulders, just above the armpit area. I asked why there? And the doctor said it actually helps to loosen the muscles in the lower back. Huh.

Then he had me lie on my front and he put a pad on my lower back then it started trembling. I think it's some kind of electrocution therapy or whatever those are called. 45mins of that and then he rubbed some Chinese stinky medicine and stuck a Chinese medicinal patch on my back. Gave me an extra one for the evening after my shower.

My back had loosened up significantly. I could walk a lot better, but it still hurt when in the act of standing up or sitting down.

Back to the doctor tomorrow. And I forgot to ask for a receipt today. It's a Chiropractor treatment, I should be able to claim it from my company work insurance. I have to ask tomorrow if they can backdate a receipt.

Aww that sounds very painful! I hope they can backdate the receipt and that your back stops hurting.

Thanks. I’m heaps better after 2 rounds of that electrocurrent therapy thing. Yes the doctor was willing to backdate the other bill but I forgot as a Chinese doctor/chiropractor kind of deal I need a referral letter from a western doctor for the insurance to cover. But anyway, I’ll submit the papers and see what happens.

I know the feeling! My back twinges are related to my menstrual cycle though. so I know when to avoid bending and straining. However, I'm insanely jealous that you could get a Chinese treatment right away. I'd have to call my doctor, then get referred to just one of those things you listed, probably without the stinky meds and patches. Still, my doctor did give me a huge bottle of muscle relaxers to "take when needed".
What treatment did you think worked best on you? The acupuncture?

After my second session and getting the receipts my colleague reminded me that I need a referral from a “western doctor” (I think that’s general practitioner)for the company medical insurance to accept this claim. Anyway, the treatment isn’t breaking my bank. I’ll just submit those bills and if they get accepted then yay.

The medical system is different here I guess. If I went to the government hospital or health centres, then I’d have a lengthy wait for the general practitioner to refer me anywhere, and the govt hospital has a long wait time.

Then there are private clinics you can go anytime you want, as long as there’s a vacancy. And usually there is. I’m lucky I have the chance to get reimbursed from my company insurance, but this is like my 4th claim ever in my 14 years so working there so I’m not exactly sure of the paperwork required. I usually just go to the panel doctors and don’t have to worry about claiming and reimbursements.

Ugh that doesn't sound too good but I'm glad you are feeling better now! I hope the pain that is left will go away soon! <33

Thank you! Yes I can walk normal already. Still a tiny bit of pain when I bend over or need to reach out for something but I’m basically cured. Just need to “take it easy” with my workouts (very dangerous lol)
