GAMD: 16-October-2021, Macau

I know it was supposed to be yesterday... but by the time I remembered it was nearing the day's end. And anyway, Friday isn't exciting as it was work day, and I've posted about that already.
I hereby present you with my 16-October-2021 instead.
Woke up at 6:30ish am. It's finally cooled down enough that I can sleep with windows opened instead of the air-con. Soon the growth lights light up (I have them on a timer) so it was just blinding me and I had to get up.
I do the normal morning stuff (stretching, hair washing, skincare, etc) and decided to check out some plants in the balcony. I was expecting for this Japanese rosebush to pretty much die but it's growing strong outside. I guess it needs the air. Indoors, it kept getting those spider mites.
Dog walk as usual. That's not my car. I just thought this is such an ugly color for a car. Lilac. Why would anyone want a Lilac car? It's a Tesla. It's actually parked the other way around. I noticed in London you can park on whichever direction, but in Macau, you have to park in the direction of the street you are in. Even if it's a two-way street, you have to park in the direction as on your side of the street. I think the police will forgive this case because of the location of the charging ports.
Facebook pops a photo of Bido from 1 year ago. My dear Bido! He's gone to doggie heaven a few months ago. 20 years old.
Because of the typhoon and the public holiday on Wednesday and Thursday, my iHerb shipment got delayed, and I still haven't received my breakfast shakes. And I had just finished the last of my shake yesterday. So I figured I'd go out for breakfast. On the way I pass by this building, this used to be the "Official Press" (Imprensa Oficial). My maternal grandpa used to work here. It's now been converted to be part of the government headquarter offices. Since it's pumpkin spice season, and I do like the pumpkin spice latte, but didn't want all that milk, I got the sweet cream cold brew, but in pumpkin spice flavor instead of the usual vanilla. The egg and tomato sandwich wasn't something to write home about.
After my quick breakfast, I went to the neighbourhood hairdresser to get a quick cut. Got some reading done. The guy was asking me if I want to dye my hair, I said no. I'm waiting for the part where the old dye is still there to grow out and when my hair is all grey without a speck of dye on it, then I'll decide what to do. There's still a bit of brown on the top.
Back home, I round up together a few bags of old coins. Nutmeg also takes the chance to attack me.
While I wait for lunch, Dad comes by to say I got 2 postcards. They are postcrossing postcards, so I register them.
I forgot about taking a photo of my lunch LOL. It was baked fish, leftover from last night's dinner. We finished that, then I went out again. The coins I prepared earlier went into this "PayBoy" machine. It's a machine that takes all your coins and you can exchange it to vouchers or donate to charities. I decided to just donate it all to the dog shelter my Sis works in.
I then take the bus to go a couple stops ahead as the shoes I put on weren't too comfortable, I realized belatedly.
I walk past the Red Market, though now the red of the market looks more painted than from the bricks naturally.
Don Don Donki has newly arrived Macau. I went in for a gander. Nothing like the Donki in Japan. Not wanting to come out empty handed, but everything being more expensive (I read the strategy is to choose things that are NOT readily available in other shops. As long as the item is only available solely in Donki, then get it. If you can get from another shop, get from the other shop), I decided to go for some Warabimochi わらび餅.
I then went to another Japanese import goods store called Barbie Love to pick up some Facebook order. Then I made the long treck home. Feeling bored of the usual "main road" that I always took, I decided to walk into the alleys and side streets instead. I saw a few things/places I've never seen before despite having lived here all my life.
In my mind, I more or less had a geographical understanding of whereabouts I was at. I should be somewhere behind the Camões Garden.
Then there was this set of long stairs going up this temple. I was pretty much convinced I was behind the garden I mentioned.
And voila, I was right. However, due to the pandemic, there is a control measure, so this side or back entrance to that garden has been closed off. I had to make my way down again. I decided to walk along the perimeter. On my next day off though, when I put on a better pair of shoes, I'll walk in the garden again.
Arrived at my home building to find out the elevator is not working. Not worrying to much, I went to the other building. My home building is like the twin towers. Ground floor up to 5th floor is separate, then there is a corridor connecting at the 6th, 9th, and rooftop. But as I went to the gate of the other building, the house guard said "nah, both elevators not working". Geez. So I had to walk up to 5F (it's technically 6F, because there is a "M" Mezzanine floor, before the 1F)
So the stuff I picked up from the other Japanese goods store was this Mentaigo sauce (it's really hot!) and this Apple Tea. Nothing is going to compare with the German brand Apple tea (which I've promptly forgotten the brand LOL it's Teekanne) but I'm open to trying. This being Japanese though, I'm not holding my breath. I foresee it's gonna be sweet. I also take the free time to write on my 5-year journal since today's question is a general question and I don't have to wait till day end, and do a session of German.
I had originally planned to go running, the weather is just too good for that... but then I had walked all day in those shoes, my feet hurt a bit, and with the elevator not working, I did not want to make any more upwards walking if I could help it. We still have to walk the dogs tonight, so it's down again, and up again... so..... I helped Dad prepare our dinner for tonight. My friend C is playing around with pottery and she made this Mexican Sombrero LOL j/k this chicken baking stand. Supposedly it's to make beer chicken (pour beer into that funnel in the middle, place the chicken on it...funnel up the butt of the chicken, poor thing, and bake. Dad is going to pass the beer though. If it works out, we need to invite my friend over for dinner another day to have chicken again.
Chicken is done. Dad then said he did put beer in the funnel thing, but the chicken didn't taste of beer. I suggested him to try use Guinness beer next time. He says he liked using this thing to bake the chicken, because the chicken keeps standing and the fat drips down to the plate underneath. So this was a success! We need to start planning for the dinner with my friend then!
Our Max is of course eager to do his food tasting duties, he is very diligent about that.
After dinner, it was the usual dog walk, then shower and all that. I updated my tracking log with today's activities. I'm happy to say I am managing to keep things on track this way. I don't know why, I couldn't keep such a log on the phone, I keep thinking I can do it later, but on a physical schedule, I just want to write in it. This is a 2022 scheduler, but I wanted to get a head start on my logging and tracking, so I've repurposed a few of the pages in the beginning of the book.
It's still cool enough, so no air-con tonight. Just the open window and the fan on low. This is lights off in my room. It's so bright because my Dad is still out in the living room talking to his brother in Austria on Skype.
