1. In your adult life, how have people tried to bully you, and how have you responded?
I don't remember the full details (it's all water under the bridge or however it's said), but one time when I was still working for my ex-ex-boss, my supervisor was on leave, right in the middle of the time when the company invited someone famous to town to announce the opening of something. (The brand starts with a V). Anyway, my supervisor was away, and the ex-ex-boss was away too, I think, so I was alone to deal with some department heads that liked to "play games" with the lower level staff.
I was prime target because both my ex-ex-boss and supervisor were not there. So this guy comes to me and says "Your supervisor has already chartered a helicopter ride for this VVVIP guest."
At that time, my supervisor and I were pretty close, and we'd tell each other about the things that we'd done. My supervisor never mentioned chartering any helicopter rides or whatnot. This department head was well known for "washing his hands" and passing his tasks to other people. So I had to tread carefully. As a fresh greenie baby, I didn't have much skill to protect myself... so I just repeated his statements as questions.
"My supervisor has already chartered a helicopter ride for this VVVIP guest?"
He stopped short. He rephrased. "No, your supervisor has already initiated talks about chartering a flight. You just need to confirm it."
"My supervisor has already initiated talks about chartering a flight? I just need to confirm it? So when's the date and who did she talk to?"
Now he was sweating. "I don't suppose she did it. Can you find out what has to be done?"
"So my supervisor didn't initiate any talks with anyone at the helicopter company. I don't mind helping you to ask around and see what needs to be done, then you can follow up."
"RIght, thanks."
That VVVIP guest didn't even have an arrival date confirmed yet, how could my supervisor had reserved a chartered flight? Dumb idiot. Dumb idiot that thought I'm an idiot.
2. What’s your favorite shade of blue?
It's that not-quite Tiffany blue (Tiffany blue is actually very green, IMHO), a tad more to blue... and darker... I dunno. Try Hex #1b88a6, something along those lines.
3. What’s a good song with ”yellow” in its lyrics or title?
I don't really listen to much English songs so to my knowledge, the only song I know with "Yellow" is Yellow Submarine. Though I think that's a stupid song. Actually I only know that 1 line anyway, so I can't say much.
4. When have you recently witnessed extraordinary kindness?
There was something the other day, but now that I have to write about it, I can't recall what it was about! Argh!
5. What’s a good movie about personal strength in the face of overwhelming odds?
I don't watch much movies either, so I can't say...
