Every other Friday Off

I'm starting that again, but to save up on my PTO, I decided not to take every Friday off, but every other Friday off. It starts tomorrow. I'm going with my bestie to one of the bigger malls, because there is an M&S there. And what is at M&S that made me want to go there so much so that I had to take a day off? Crumpets!

I laughed so much when I saw it, because, if I don't laugh, I'd shiver in disgust. Just looking at it now gives me the goosebumps.

My bestie wants it just for the heck of it. I don't know why I want it, but I suppose it's good for a laugh. My other friend, who asked to help her buy one in case the local M&S IS carrying this wants to drizzle strawberry jam all over (in fact, she wants to fill all the holes with strawberry jam) and see what it will look like a bloody zombie bunnie.

Who had the brilliant idea to use crumpets for a cartoon image? Couldn't they have used pancakes, or even waffles? I remember at Disney they had specialized griddles with a Mickey face shape to make waffles like that... but now crumpets? What's the big idea? LOL

Hope my bestie is doing better. She second-hand witnessed a suicide (heard someone jump off the building and heard the impact) so has a bit of a mild PTSD kind of mindset. I'd like to help her get her mind off things. She's also dabbling into the crystal healing stones so I might help her a bit. She put on an Aquarmarine bracelet in hopes of helping her purge negativity but it made her feel a bit sick. I asked how long she had had the bracelet and if she had "charged" or "purified" her bracelet and she said she had it 2 years ago, but didn't put it on for a year. Well, she'll definitely need to cleanse it. I think I'll give her my stick of palo santo. What I'd like to do is bring the singing bowl to her and purify it on-spot. Anyway, it's the new moon tomorrow night as well, so I told her to put the bracelet out tomorrow night to get some moonlight on it. We'll see when we meet tomorrow.

Ah, my nice manicure didn't last a week haha! I have 3 nails that the color has come off. I'll just let the nails rest now.

Oh, this was about my alternating Fridays off. Well, no big plans yet, just want to make it look like I'm clearing my PTO, but not really. It just means I'm still feeling hopeful that the borders will open up and I can go on holiday soon.

I'm on the tail end of Criminal Minds. I got a bit confused, I've been watching the show consecutively, I did not miss an episode, but I seem to be missing things in a few episodes? Like there's this one that obviously was being a crossover with another show (Beyond Borders?) because the characters were talking like they've known each other from BEFORE. Googled and it's a backdoor pilot... but if it's a pilot, why are they talking like they know each other already? Not to mention, for a few episodes, it feels like there are loose ends, where they didn't catch the criminal, and the criminal went on to another state and is continuing the spree? I dunno. I have 2 more seasons to finish. This is starting to feel like a chore.... I'm looking forward to finishing it so I don't have to waste time binging!




... but after a quick Google, I just found out, what is available on Netflix isn't all of it. On Netflix it's up to Season 12, but apparently it's already up to season 15, with season 16 being planned? Ugh...

Dinner is smelling good. Smells like some kind of piccata or something.

Criminal minds ended in 2020 with season 15, but there is a reboot in the works, with some returning cast members and some new people. And like the CSI: Vegas reboot, it will feature one continuing story arch over the series (which will likely be a shorter series, e.g. 10-12 episodes rather than 20+), rather than the "case of the week" approach.

That’s interesting to know. And indeed having 20+ episodes in a season is very taxing… to the viewer haha

Well, maybe if you're bingeing it, but not in the context of US network TV broadcasts. When it aired on US network TV, it's one episode a week, and there are frequent breaks in the schedule, e.g. US networks rarely air new episodes of shows over the "Holiday" period (between US Thanksgiving and end of January). And in recent years, they often opt to air half the season (weekly episodes), take a long break to test out some other new show, then resume the second half of the season 3-4 months later. So, the most taxing thing is trying to keep track of when the show is coming back with new episodes.

Crumpets! Those are rare over here but I sometimes see them at the supermarket in the specialty breads section.
