Questions from F.riday5.com
1. What’s the nicest thing someone said to you this week?
The Boss' driver in Hong Kong did not say it out loud, but he sort of implied something that I'm pretty happy about. I'm easy to please, and it might just be my imagination, but I'm happy all the same.
2. What’s the nicest music you heard this week?
My free Apple Music subscription is expiring soon, so I've been trying out a few albums and artists and marking what I like, so when my subscription is over I can buy the albums. I've always known I quite like KOKIA's works, and this week in trial listening, this one was pretty nice! I especially like the last part (around the 5:02 mark)
3. What was the nicest surprise this week?
My brain kept skipping Tuesday this week. Like, on Sunday, I thought it would be the 27th, and then the meeting on Tuesday is on the 28th. Then on Monday, I arranged for a special zoom call for "tomorrow, the 28th" (when the 28th was really Monday)... and then on Tuesday I kept thinking it was Wednesday and that "I had 2 more days to work until my weekend".
The nice surprise in this was... apparently half of my colleagues thought the same too! We have no idea why, but half the office was mixing up the dates like that.
4. In what way did you make someone’s day nicer this week?
I hope I succeeded in my self-imposed quest to cheer up my friend today. We did our window-shopping at The Venetian Macau (a local mall/casino by the US-based Las Vegas Sands), she showed me a spiffy new credit card in cooperation with this mall, and with the benefits (free parking, automatic 25% discount on F&B bills), I might apply for this card too. It's from a bank I already have a bank account, so it will be easy to switch one of my cards to this.
Anyway, she got a new bomber style jacket and a skirt that, while it fits, she can wear it from legs up, she has to wear it from up down, like putting on a dress LOL. And the M&S bunny crumpets were a bust, they are not carrying that line in Macau (boo!)... instead I got a mish-mash of the M&S snack buckets (Tea Cakes and Caramel Crispies), she got some biscuits.
We tried, for lunch, the new Canton restaurant, serving premium dim sum (it costed an arm and a leg, but I'm happy to say quality-wise it was worth it), and at the end of the day we closed the trip with some ice cream... or is that gelato? It was glorious!
5. Who has a nice smile?
Who else? LOL
