Hello again! Yes. I am writing about 25-July because my 24-July was much the same as the other one I posted previously 12-July. We got to go back to work on 25-July, so here I am!
As usual, it's early morning for me. I wake up, but don't roll around in bed. I quickly go through my morning ablutions.
Two weeks in lockdown meant two weeks of no make-up... I sort of forgot my sequence already LOL. But my skin is fantastic because, I guess, I didn't put on make up (skin can breathe) and I managed to drink at least 3 litres of water daily during the lockdown. I wonder if I can keep up now that I'm back at work.
Obligatory home-testing before going out.
I wake up the dogs. Here's Sai-Lup being cute and unwilling to wake up.
He has this special harness now to help him stand up and walk. Once he's standing up, he can walk okay(ish). I tried many Taobao knock-off brands and they are just all sh*t, like, the back side harness would fall off. This American brand (Help 'Em Up) is pretty good. The backside harness is clipped to the font harness, so it doesn't fall. The dog can do both businesses with them on too. Anyway, the dogs get walked.
After the dog walk, I change and move on to work. I skip breakfast at home because the fridge got busted yesterday (scary incident! Apartment fuse skipped, burning smell, and all that!). I wasn't sure if the parents will manage to get a new fridge today yet, so didn't want to open a new box of milk and not being able to fridge it... I put on a podcast to listen to as I walk. This is a new podcast I'm binging on recently.
I walk past this alley almost every day but today is like the first time I see this traffic sign. I think it's newly installed because it looks pretty new. The reason I'm posting this is because... we are in 2022 already... but this traffic sign still depicts a vintage car. The sign is "No Vehicles". Honestly, looking at this alley, you really wouldn't drive a car down there. But for them to put a new sign there, someone must have done something stupid.
I buy my breakfast on the way. I bought a grande size by mistake. This "cup holder sling" I have apparently is for a tall size only. The streets are relatively empty.
So the new legislation is.... If you are in an open-plan office, you cannot drink, you cannot eat, you cannot in any circumstance take off your face mask. WTF. Since my boss is in Hong Kong and will not be using his office, I take over his private office for whenever I need a break, need a drink of water, and lunch.
I was worried my succulent would be dead, but succulents are robust. I had a growth light for it, so it was ok. (Kudos to my friend/colleague M for the 2 drawings of my dogs!!)
Email mailbox cleanup was mostly for stupid newsletters anyway, nobody was around to send emails anyway, so it was just easy deleting.
Lunch in the Boss' office. I play a bit of a hidden objects game.
I really couldn't just stay cooped up in the office all day, so I went out to pick up some group-on type order I made previously. I received a message saying the items had arrived, so I thought, why not make it a walk. On the way back, I pass by a testing station and do another Covid test (mandatory to do every second day, starting on the day you return to work), but no photos allowed there.
By the end of the day, I wash my mug before I leave the office. We are to operate with minimum manpower, so the "tea lady" is not in. I don't know if her "leave" was consensual or not. They are the ones on probably lower-end of the wage scale, but they are the ones deemed to be unnecessary manpower, so they are forced to take leave or even unpaid leave. In a way, I do feel sorry for them. But anyway, even if the "tea lady" is in, I always wash my own mug at the end of the day.
I get home and oh, and the parents did manage to get a new fridge! But. It's one of those newfangled touch-menu computerized thingamajigs. My first thought was, "one more thing to go out of order!" But I didn't dare voice it out, in case my Mom starts going crazy again.
I forgot to shoot dinner. But after dinner, Harley suddenly jumps up and gets clingy, so I begin a head scratch fest for him.
Night time dog walk is at the dog park. The dog parks used to be free to come and go. Now they've set up a tent and security to sit there all day. Think about when the sun is out and it's hot and boiling.
The thing I went to pick up was this pair of rain boots. It was supposed to arrive in June, for the rainy season. So once again, the lockdown made it arrive only now, in almost-August.
Shower, night routine and time for bed. These are my recent two favorite serums. Once the The Ordinary one is finished, I won't be able to get it again, unless the same group-on type shop decides to get stock of that again. The Advanced Clinicals thing can be easily replenished via iHerb.
There you go! Hopefully the restrictions will continue to loosen over the next few days and life can really get back to normal!

Date: 2022-07-28 14:37 (UTC)It's probably the light from the screen reflecting off your face that makes it look washed out. I'm pretty happy I don't need to attend zoom meetings that expects me to show my face. Since I'm usually the record keeper, I just need to listen in.
