elusivekI tried using a VPN on my phone but it's draining my battery and cell data, so I've switched that off. But I have the VPN switched on on my Laptop and iPad, it seems to be draining my iPad battery even when there is no internet involved, so I might switch that off. On my laptop I don't notice it much yet... but why am I going there, that's not what I wanted to say.
I mean, it is related to the VPN. On my laptop I have the VPN set to the UK. And I didn't notice it before, but now the ads I receive are all UK-centric. Say I'm on spotify, the ads are usually of silly Hongkie artists. But now with the VPN on, I noticed... the ads are of silly UK services LOL. I'm not really big on spotify and I've vowed not to pay for streaming music anymore so I'll suffer through the ads. Maybe I'll try different countries now and then and see which countries have more interesting ads? LOL?
Christmas month has finally arrived. The weather is cooperating. Yesterday morning temperatures dropped to 10ºC and yes I know that's nothing compared to snowing countries, but the 10ºs are a big deal here LOL. Heck, even at 19ºC the down feather jackets start showing up. I think I can feel pretty comfortable in normal t-shirts down to 16ºC ish. But even yesterday at 10º I only had a very light jacket. What I really needed was a scarf, because I'm easily prone to upper respiratory track infections, so I have to protect my neck and upper chest area from the cold and wind. Coming to think of it I haven't gotten sick in the past couple years, maybe because of the masks? or maybe because of the scarves? Or maybe because I've been running and training my breath?
But all this talk won't help much. Today it's up to 15ºC and I guess tomorrow it's Spring warm weather again LOL. Apparently the Lunar calendar or Farmer's Almanac or whatever had said that this winter will not be overly cold.
oh, right, and I've totally called it! It's a pity I don't gamble LOL. (As all people who work in casinos would say, don't gamble, the house always wins). I don't really care for the World Cup but around the dinner table yesterday we were just talking about oh, Germany's lost to Japan. Then I recalled the other day in another match, another favorite lost as well (Brazil? something?) so when Mom said "Tonight it's Portugal against S. Korea" and I just casually said, "with the weird things going on, Portugal's gonna lose it." Mom got quiet (maybe miffed) but conceded "maybe". Woke up this morning and what happened? S.Korea won against Portugal (don't ask me the score though, I don't really care).
Many years ago... I think I was in High School..... 1998??? I very randomly said "France's gonna win" during lunch break, and it was just when the World Cup started (again, I never watched any match, I don't care) and that year...... France won. Hey, maybe I'm like that Octopus!
