Ah, my Dad has returned from his trip to Austria!
Highlights of his actual trip:

- he's getting old, so he forgets where he's put his stuff. E.g. "I'll put my passport in this bag pocket!" And then at check in, there is no passport in that bag pocket. Apparently, he put it in his inner jacket pocket.

- going to Austria, he had to transit in Taipei, and the Taipei airport staff said "your luggage tag on the luggage fell off, so here is a new one." Which, coming to think of it, I think it was the ground staff in Macau that did not put the luggage tag on the bag. You know, usually they explain and say your bag goes "all the way to destination" and that "this is your luggage tag, don't lose it"? I was at check in with him and I do not recall the staff saying that.

- He got covid in Austria. Or maybe he had covid in Macau and arrived Austria with covid.

- Coming back, he has forgotten that he should not pack the power bank (spare battery for the phone) into the check in bag. So on the way back, in Taipei, the staff already told him "We opened your bag and took it out", or, something like that. My Dad has trouble retelling stories, so i guess that's it.

- it so happened that I am really really sick today, so I couldn't go fetch in at the airport. Mom and my Sis went to the airport. So I was not there to catch it first hand.

- anyway, since in Taipei they told my Dad they opened the bag, my Dad looked for opened bags and took one home. Mom and Sis saw it and didn't say anything. When I finally stood up to look, I simply said "that's not my bag" (he borrowed my bag). My bag is purple. The bag he brought back was smaller and blue.

- and then the fights started (Mom yelling at Dad, Dad saying he doesn't know). Screaming match of "what should we do now?" And I'm all like everyone please calm down let me think. Coz I'm sick, not feeling well, and my brain isn't working properly. Give me some time!

- In the end I figured out what to do - call the airport, explain that we took the wrong bag, give all the luggage tag information, etc. They say they now got the right bag, but I had to ask them "so is it really my bag? Did they open it?" Until they actually come back with the bag I won't really know.

- Before anyone asks, yes, my purple bag looks different because it's sharp purple and Dad put his own bright neon yellow address tag on it. Why didn't recognize his own bag is another thing.

As for my feeling sick, I at first though "shit, I got the flu again? But it can't be covid!" Because i had all the flu symptoms - muscle and joint pain all over, etc. Then I figured out, yesterday I washed Max, but not wanting for him to catch a cold, I switched on the bathroom heater. I probably got a heat stroke from that. I was out yesterday after that I felt myself almost fainting, so I had to sit down somewhere. Geez. It really feels terrible. I'm now in the stage of breaking cold sweat and diarrhea, so hopefully once all these pass I'll be feeling better.
