..... but never zero.

One such reel looped over my IG feed a couple weeks back. I had a laugh, sent to the family, they had a laugh, and that was that.

Our Frankie the Frenchie is generally very friendly. He is sooooo friendly that visitors to our home have a hard time leaving because he will cause a ruckus. Our cleaning lady? Same. Cousins visiting? Same. Some random guy coming to fix our water heater? Same.

So Dad likes to take him out when the people are seemingly at the end of whatever they're here for, so that there won't be so much ruckus at home.

And I also just said so a couple weeks back, that he should NOT be taking Frankie out anymore. Dad is weak, and old age, can easily fall and get hurt.

Everything came together yesterday. The gas man came over to replace our hot water heater/boiler. So Dad took Frankie out. They were already on the way home, Dad parked the car in the garage, was ready to come up with Frankie, when Frankie just pulled in another direction, Dad slipped, fell. Luckily there were some workers in the garage, and the building security also just so happened to be on patrol and was down in the garage, helped my Dad up but when he reached the building entrance platform, he just couldn't walk anymore. He tried to call Mom, but misdialed to me, I called Mom, she went down, I rushed home.

Had to call the ambulance, but the guy was still not finished with replacing the water boiler, so I went home to be there. Guy finished, I paid, Made the rounds around the apartment to make sure the cats are all accounted for, dogs are at home, and I went back to work. Had a quick lunch, sorted out a few things work related, and decided to swing by the hospital to bring some food for the parents.

But it was a weird time when I arrived the hospital - it was visiting hours, so there was no car park available. Our hospital has a visiting hour schedule and usually during this time, there will be no more car parks. And the hospital sits atop a mountain so one can't just park anywhere outside and walk there, it's park anywhere outside and walk UP there. I managed to get a carpark at the "selfish park-o-meter" lol (regular park-o-meter have a 4 hour max limit, the ones I call selfish can only park 1 hour).

Luckily I have a cousin that works in the hospital, so he was able to smooth things along (such as getting a bed, getting doctors to prioritise us, etc).

So after an xray, his femoral head (the thigh bone, in the joint where it goes into the hip?) is cracked. Surgery. So now they're weaning him off his oral medication of blood thinners, they need to give him another kind of blood thinner. Once this part of his medication is sorted out, he can go into surgery.

Looking at a couple weeks immobilisation and then a couple months rehabilitation and physio. July/August Europe? no more. He was mad. "It will be over by then!" I had to bring him reality, "what you think you can just walk after that? You need to learn to walk again, build your muscles, and such?" he got mad and turned his head away from me. ugh.

Boss has been nice and says I can take time off whenever needed. This is going to be a long, long, road.....

I'm just thinking about my Japan trip and Singapore work trip, how then my Sis would be alone dealing with the dogs. ugh.
