Quick life updates
Saturday, 20 August 2016 09:53Made a quick trip to Hong Kong yesterday for a placement interview, as I applied for a German class. The class itself isn't expensive, but the trips to Hong Kong are going to be expensive.
Anyway, the secretary of that school sort of made it worse for me. I had my eye on a course that was intensive, 6 hours a day (Sundays) running for 4 weeks. It was of level A1-4, and I said I wanted to apply for that. I figured despite my German being shit, I must be around that level, because I am not going to start at A1-1.
Secretary said no, I should do a placement, so I had to wait (intensive course had run 2 weeks already), and after my interview with the professor, what do you know, I could go to A1-4 or A2-1, but I'd have to do a lot of homework if I went for the A2-1 option. I much preferred the A1-4, but had already missed half the intensive course, so that was a no go. In the end, I'm going to start on 29-October, regular 3-hour session course running for 9 weeks. (That's 5 extra ferry round trips, argh, Miss Secretary, why did you do that to me)
The whole of last week was rainy and typhoony and messed up my whole running schedule. I hope this week it gets better so I can get back on track.
New exciting thing happening in town? Coming Monday 22-August, Wynn Palace Macau is opening! One of my travel buddy friends works there, so she had been particularly busy lately. After the opening, maybe she will have more time and we can start planning for our trip as well.
In case you are interested, *points up* a video tour thingie for Wynn Palace. I'm just not sure about that Gorilla thing, doesn't feel very Wynn-y. And the Carousel and the Ferris Wheel, but what do I know about marketing...
It's Saturday, and I have some small errands to run, have a couple things to buy and as Saturdays go, it's cleaning day. Tonight I'm going to have dinner with my friends. I wonder if I can eat anything, I've skipped dinner for almost a month now, or rather, I've imposed a no-food-after-7pm thing, I wonder if I'll be able to get my appetite up. There's always beer though, because we are going to the new(ish?) Paulaner Brauhaus that opened in Macau. (It's so new that the official website at Macau Tower doesn't even have any updates - they still list the Singing Bean Cafe when it's been closed for a while and now there's this Paulaner thing there)
Argh I want to be lazy and laze the day away...
