More discoveries (LJ/DW)

I’m still staunchly LJ-based, but as I like trying out things and mucking around stuff (curiosity killed the cat), here’s some of my findings, put together.
Right… so I can’t find an app for DW, this is inconvenient.
I remember LJ had a button for cross posting to DW, which as people have said, is gone. However, DW has the function to cross post to LJ, which I’m trying out right now. Edit: which doesn’t work LOL
LJ had a nifty function of sharing your community posts to your personal LJ, the post comes up to your feed but comments will go to the actual comm post. (Not sure if it works the other way around, I don’t manage any comms there). DW has no such function so I had to double post, and any comments received on either side (the comm post, or my personal post) will be separated.
It sounds like one can play more around with DW layouts and customisation, but I’m past my prime in coding LOL so I’m being super lazy and not willing to study further.

Date: 2022-03-13 17:08 (UTC)DW was created by a guy that came from LJ staff, which is why DW looks the way it does, and is almost identical to what LJ looked like years ago too (I have been with LJ since 2001).
I think there’s definitely a lot you can do with DW that you have to discover, I’m sure. I will definitely be deleting my LJ account eventually and moving here. I can’t see myself monetarily supporting Russian LJ. I have an emotional attachment and have made lots of friends there but most have migrated to DW too, thankfully. :)

Date: 2022-03-17 08:34 (UTC)Oh that's neat! There's a couple of LJ features I wish dw had, adding that one to the list.
And I feel ya on layouts. Wish I had the brain and energy to dig into CSS, but I know better.
